Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Dixon.
Hi Elizabeth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been around stones/crystals since I was about 7 years old when I started making jewelry as a hobby. I was drawn to the crystals but didn’t know why yet, it was just therapeutic to create something with my hands. Later in life, I became a jeweler as a profession and had many other careers in the industry. I have always been interested in helping others to heal from their trauma or guide them through life’s ups and downs…to be what I needed to see in the world. It was while I was taking a class to become a life coach in 2017 that I had a profound reading with a psychic for the first time. She said that I would be leaving Seattle to go to Texas to open a shop and it was there that I would open my business and help many people. I had no idea what that would look like even though I went to business school. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I could start a business and have it be successful. I started doing everything I could to make this new dream grow when I started my business in 2019. And in the Winter of 2021/2022, I opened a storefront called The Empress. I have grown in so many ways and met so many incredible people along the way. I now employ 5 wonderful people and the team keeps expanding as awareness of my shop spreads. There isn’t a day that goes by that I am not astounded by what my life has become.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business has its ups and downs. It has not been a smooth journey but it gets easier over time. Some of the struggles I have had along the way have been finding the right team to support my vision, acquiring capital to grow the business and learning how to market the business in an ever-changing world.

I own a metaphysical boutique in the heart of New Braunfels, Texas. We carry crystals, herbs, tarot & oracle decks, books, candles, jewelry and so much more. We offer many events throughout each month including workshops, manifestation ceremonies, artisan markets, and divination readers. We are different than other boutiques in town because we pull together our community and make it into a family. I am proud of our in-house line of teas, herbs, and spell jars & kits.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have had many spiritual mentors along the way who have helped support my path and encouraged me to grow as a person and as a business. I wouldn’t be here without my team and the community we have fostered. Everyone brings a unique role to the table to bring this community focused business to life.
