Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Silvas.
Hi Chelsea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey through foster care and adoption sparked a love for creating meaningful moments. From clothing and birthday celebrations to nursery décor, I enjoy tying themes together and creating beautiful pieces that help families make memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being naturally introverted and shy, one of the most challenging parts of this journey has been stepping into a world that relies heavily on content creation, social media presence, and marketing. While creating comes naturally to me, sharing my work and putting myself out there does not. Learning to promote my business, show up online, and connect with others in a public way has pushed me far outside my comfort zone. Each post, market, and interaction is a small act of courage, helping me grow
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cornelia Baby Boutique and Onsie Bar is a small business focused on baby and children’s clothing, custom pieces, and themed keepsakes designed to make everyday moments and special milestones more memorable.
The boutique side offers thoughtfully curated baby clothing.
The Onesie Bar is an interactive, custom experience where customers can choose a plain onesie and personalize it with designs, graphics, or themes to create a one-of-a-kind piece. It is often showcased at markets or pop-ups, allowing families to “build” their own keepsake in real time. This concept blends creativity with experience, turning a simple clothing item into something personal and meaningful.
Together, the boutique and Onesie Bar focus on more than just products—they center around memory-making, personalization, and celebrating childhood in a creative, hands-on way.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I have made the intentional decision to make my children and my business, Cornelia Street Baby Boutique & Onesie Bar, my main focus. This has led me to take a leap of faith in stepping away from a full-time job in order to dedicate my time, energy, and creativity toward building something meaningful for my family and future. It is a decision rooted in purpose, passion, and the desire to create both stability and lasting memories through my work.
