Hi Ana, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
At 25 years old, I was a single mother with a vision to become a homeowner. I was so proud of myself when I purchased my first home and ecstatic to offer stability and a nice yard for my toddler son to play in. Meanwhile, my boss then disagreed with my decision to purchase a home. He sat me down and explained that I had made a significant mistake with my home purchase. He even added that I would foreclose soon after. Confused but willing to hear him out, I wanted to know why and how he arrived at this conclusion. My boss adamantly proceeded to tell me that I would lose my home because I was “just a woman and a Mexican woman at that!” He cast a shadow on my dream for a moment, but ultimately, I decided he was right. I reminded myself that I AM a Mexican woman, and therefore, I need to “recharge ganas” and prove him wrong!
20 + years later, I pride myself as a realtor and licensed de bienes y raices here to empower others to homeownership! Because of what I experienced, I want to be the one to encourage you to reach that American Dream of home ownership! I want to remind you not to allow anyone’s limiting beliefs to discourage you from following your heart’s dreams! If this Mexican American single mother can do it, so can you! Si se puede! My goal as your realtor is not a one-time transaction but to empower you and build a friendship that will last for years! I believe in generational wealth and am proud to be a part of this with my clients. I also love day trips and discovering new places, especially our Texas hill country. Guiding my clients to build on their land has become a passion of mine. As I continue to travel the Texas roads, it only fuels my desire to be a part of the development of our state. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road! As I mentioned, I experienced racism, nay-sayers, and limiting beliefs that discouraged me along the way. The limiting beliefs along the way discouraged me; I may be ahead of my goals by now. I am strong, so I push and move forward and believe in God’s timing. However, overcoming and mastering my belief in myself by keeping my faith is a daily practice. I am leaning on my faith and belief that I am deserving of all the goals and dreams that I have for myself. I want to exemplify resilience and perseverance to my son and my grandson. I want to show them that achieving with the right mindset is possible. Ultimately, I will be so happy if my story and perseverance can inspire one person. It took me many years to arrive at this place. The place where I can stop and agree that I am proud of myself!

What sets me apart from others is my passion to build relationships. I love learning from others, and my curiosity allows me to learn about people and our behaviors. I have a bachelor’s in psychology, which I am proud of. Brand-wise, I am happy about my true approach. I do what I love and share why I love what I do. My passion does come through with my marketing. I love it when people tell me they enjoy my posts and my excitement for life! Many people have said to me that they live vicariously through me!
Ultimately, my brand was created because of my love for my community and the state of Texas. I love marketing small businesses and showcasing what others are doing! I write for two publications currently, and I will market my community for free! I believe “there is so much out there for us all!” I pride myself on my abundance mentality. I want to applaud all small business owners! Keep doing what you are doing! I can not be everyone’s realtor, nor would I want to. Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Absolutely. I am a risk taker. I have been a risk-taker many times in my life. When I was 25 years old, I decided buying a home would be best for my son and me. I was a single mother and head of household, and it was exciting but also a leap of faith. With my boss discouraging me, I became a homeowner ever since.
As an adult, I left my career in healthcare to travel the world! I left my career, traveled, and began my second career as a self-employed individual. I am an empty nester who wants to control and design my schedule. I have done just that. Several of my past co-workers have told me that I inspired them to leave their jobs and pursue their dream jobs. That makes me happy!
Throughout my life, I have enjoyed being a single person. I was never afraid to travel alone, to take myself to a nice restaurant, or to attend a concert alone. I have been told this is challenging for most people, but I have also said I inspired them to try it out! My advice is to do what you love and go where you want, and the right people will always do the same things you love at these places! You never know! You may meet your tribe!
