Today we’d like to introduce you to Siobhain Anders.
Hi Siobhain, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
People always ask ….What are you doing now? I have always loved having several projects going at the same time. I’m born and raised in San Antonio. I earned a Broadcast Journalism degree from Trinity University, and then went on to Mississippi State University and earned a Meteorology degree.
For almost 30 years I have been lucky enough to have a career in TV , telling the viewers the Weather on KSAT 12, News 4 and Fox here in San Antonio. I am known as the “Redheaded weather lady” . I am very lucky to still be working in television today.
As always I decided to start another venture sharing my love for vintage, one of a kind treasures and décor with South Texas.
My love for all things different and unusual started as a child. My mom and dad traveled the world and brought back special treasures from their travels. They not only introduced me to beautiful things from around the world ,but also taught me to appreciate the stories behind these one of a kind treasures.
After losing my parent several years ago I inherited a good amount of the one of a kind pieces. It was hard to let the pieces go ,but I was in hope that the beautiful items would bring joy to someone else.
I started by selling the inherited beauties and then began buying other rare items to replenish my inventory in my vendor booth. I started treasure hunting!
Shopping With Siobhain was born!
As of today we have 2 store fronts, one in Rockport Tx and Comfort Tx. We take pride in hand picking and creating pieces that bring joy to others. The inventory at our stores changes weekly so you never know what you may find.
At our Comfort location we have 5 beautiful casitas that visitors can stay in. Hence” Staying With Siobhain ” was born. My team and I have been working for the last 7 years on the casitas to make them a unique experience for our visitors. Each casita is themed differently and no two are alike. I wanted to create a stay that can’t be forgotten. They can be found on Air B&B and VRBO, as well as our website.
We have also just finished a few months ago our entertainment venue, complete with a stage, dance floor and the peacock Lounge. They say “its not a party until the redhead show’s up”, so on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month we get together for a fun party. We have Steak Night with live music, great drinks and delicious food! Everyone is invited to come enjoy a fun evening . You can come cook your own steaks on our big Texas size mesquite grills ,enjoy beer ,wine and Margaritas to go and do a little dancing!
We also have added a True Texas Event…Chicken Sh*t Bingo…Nothing like playing bingo with live chickens! You never know how much you may win!.
Shopping With Siobhain has been a labor of love. An adventure I have enjoyed so far and am looking forward to the future. You never know what we will be doing next. My Motto is: Life is Short …so keep looking for your next adventure!”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a difficult road at times. Covid was a very difficult time with our stores closed to the public and the July 4th Hill Country floods last year were unexpected and closed our store down for a few weeks. We were very lucky we didn’t have a lot of damage. We are strong and we keep putting one foot in front of the other. No one said owning and running a small business was easy!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love seeing people smile and enjoy the little things in life. It is fun bringing happiness thru one of a kind pieces, The joy of staying in one of our casitas and living life to the fullest with great events and fun times.
Also because I love good food ,just a month ago have added- Bit It Eatery- to our Comfort location
Delicious food and a great culinary experience.
I guess we are a one stop shop… shopping, staying, eating and fun parties!
