Today we’d like to introduce you to Sidney Wall.
Hi Sidney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off years ago when I was a full time student at UTSA, I helped my family manage some airbnb properties that they were hosting/owned at the time. One day my sister called me and said a cleaner for one of the properties was sick and they needed assistance ASAP. I let her know that I would figure it out but I ended up not being able to find anyone to fill the spot so I decided to show up and do that job myself. I did this on the side of my regular job for a while throughout school for extra income and it worked out great for me. Fast forward to life after graduation, I was working remotely in business to business sales (basically helping all types of companies to scale their business). I realized one day that if I had the skills to help others develop and grow their businesses then I could probably do the same for myself. When thinking of different businesses that I could start I came up with a million different ideas but the area I felt most calling to was cleaning for short term rentals because of my experience. I told myself I was going to try it out and not look back which is exactly what I did. Short term rental cleanings have been the easier side of the business to run while residential and post construction cleans have been a great opportunity to learn since I didn’t have experience with those areas prior to starting my business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This business has been an adventure, some days are great and easy and some days are harder. Some of the struggles along the way have been changes in the market, staying positive with all customers and creating a great system for my team to have the least amount of mistakes possible while at jobs.
As you know, we’re big fans of Serenity CleanWorks. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is all about providing top-tier cleaning services with a personal touch. We specialize in residential and commercial cleaning, and we’re known for being detail-oriented, reliable, and consistent. Whether it’s a routine clean, a deep refresh, or a move-in/move-out job, we show up with care and leave spaces sparkling.
What sets us apart is the level of pride we take in our work. I treat every home or office like it’s my own, and that mindset has built a lot of trust with my clients. I’m hands-on, and my team shares the same high standards. We’re not just in and out—we notice the little things that others might overlook.
Brand-wise, I’m proud of the reputation we’ve built. We’re more than just a cleaning service, we’re the peace of mind people count on. My goal is for every client to walk in after we’ve been there and feel the difference, not just see it. When I create posts on social media I advocate for tranquility and peace in every home/space. I do my best to recreate those same vibes for the customer to experience when each job is done.
For your readers, I want them to know that we offer reliable, judgment-free, and flexible cleaning services that fit around their lives. Whether they need weekly help or a one-time deep clean, we’re here to make life easier and a whole lot cleaner.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I would consider myself a risk-taker, I think because I enjoy challenges. Starting my cleaning business was one of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken. I walked away from the comfort and predictability of a regular paycheck to bet on myself and it was scary. I didn’t have a roadmap, just a deep belief in my work ethic and my ability to build something meaningful from the ground up.
There were definitely moments of doubt, but every risk I’ve taken has pushed me to grow personally and professionally. Whether it was investing in better tools, taking on a bigger contract, or raising my rates to reflect the quality of my service, each decision came with risk, but also reward.
I’ve learned that risk-taking isn’t about being reckless it’s about trusting yourself, doing the work, and being willing to step outside your comfort zone to chase something bigger. And in this business, that mindset has made all the difference.
