Exploring Life & Business with Sara Martin of FireRainbow Myofascial Release

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Martin.

Hi Sara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I discovered the John Barnes method of Myofascial Release in 2018 while working as an esthetician and massage therapist at a day spa in San Antonio. At the time, I felt increasingly dissatisfied with traditional massage therapy. Many of my clients returned week after week with the same complaints and little lasting improvement. I knew there had to be a more effective approach to pain relief.
A chiropractor I was seeing asked if I had ever heard of the John Barnes method of Myofascial Release. That conversation led me to begin researching the work, and I immediately felt drawn to it. I attended my first John Barnes seminar in Corpus Christi in February 2018, and within four months, I transitioned into working as a Myofascial Release therapist.
In 2021, I opened my private practice, FireRainbow Myofascial Release. Owning my own business has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. I work with people every day who are navigating complex and often painful experiences, and I support them as they move back toward comfort, function, and quality of life.
My role as a Myofascial Release therapist is ultimately to work myself out of a job. Many of the people who come to see me have already seen multiple providers and often undergone one or more surgeries. One client came to me after her doctor could not identify the cause of her pain and was recommending exploratory surgery. She continues to come in today, not out of necessity, but because she wants to maintain a pain-free, active life.
My connection to this work is also deeply personal. Around the age of eleven or twelve, I began living with constant pain while walking and debilitating headaches. Chiropractic care was frequent, sometimes weekly, especially during flares. After receiving Myofascial Release myself following that first seminar, everything changed. Today, I see a chiropractor only occasionally, and the constant headaches I once assumed everyone lived with are gone. Myofascial Release helped relieve pressure in my body that I did not even know existed.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many small business owners, the journey has not been without challenges. Learning the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a business has been a significant growth experience. In 2021, I invested in business coaching, which proved invaluable. Working with Heather Hammell, the MFR Coach, particularly around mindset, has been well worth the time and investment.
My experience with coaching was so impactful that I became a certified life coach through The Life Coach School. I now integrate coaching into my sessions when appropriate. Similar to Myofascial Release, coaching is never forced. It is applied gently, through presence, time, and compression.

As you know, we’re big fans of FireRainbow Myofascial Release. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What You Should Know
I help people get out of pain and return to their lives. This often looks like calming the nervous system, creating a sense of safety and ease, improving sleep, and helping clients feel truly rested.
Many clients notice these changes quickly, while others may question what they are experiencing, and that is completely normal. I am confident, with every fiber of my being, that Myofascial Release supports healing for anyone who is willing to allow the experience.

What I Specialize In and What Sets Me Apart
I offer three ways to work together, all designed to support the same outcomes, with time being the primary difference.
Clients may choose a single 60-minute session, a six-hour package typically used one to two times per week, or immersive sessions purchased in six-hour increments and scheduled over one to two weeks. Immersives are ideal for those who want to accelerate their progress and may come in once a month or every few months.
At the end of the first session, I share my observations and make personalized recommendations. Together, we discuss goals and create a plan that aligns with the client’s needs and lifestyle.
What sets my practice apart is the depth of care, individualized pacing, and integration of nervous system awareness, hands-on therapy, and coaching support.
What I Am Proud Of
I am proud of a brand built on trust, integrity, and results. FireRainbow Myofascial Release is known for providing a calm, supportive environment where people feel seen, heard, and respected throughout their healing process.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I see Myofascial Release continuing to move into the mainstream as awareness grows around unresolved and complex pain conditions. More people are actively seeking alternatives when traditional approaches do not provide clear answers or lasting relief. This includes individuals navigating unexplained pain, preparing for surgery, and those looking to optimize recovery and outcomes after surgical procedures.
Consumers are more informed than ever. They understand that there are multiple pathways to healing, and they are increasingly willing to invest in therapies that address the whole body rather than isolated symptoms. As the conversation around nervous system regulation, fascia, and long-term pain resolution expands, Myofascial Release is becoming a trusted and sought-after option within integrative care models.
I am committed to staying in business long term so I can continue supporting as many people as possible through this work. I also intend to remain a high-income earner within the field of Myofascial Release. I believe it is important to demonstrate what is possible, both clinically and financially, so other therapists can see this work as a sustainable, respected, and rewarding career path.
