Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebekah Voglewede.
Hi Rebekah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started back in high school, actually. One of my best friends was struggling with acne, and we ended up visiting an esthetician. At the time, I had no idea what an esthetician even was. But that experience completely changed my life. She was warm, confident, and full of knowledge—and we both left that appointment feeling empowered and seen. As a teenager, that moment left a huge impression on me. She didn’t just give us tips for clearer skin—she helped us embrace the things that made us different. That feeling stuck with me.
From that point on, I became incredibly intrigued by skincare—not just for the beauty side of things, but for how transformative it can be. We all show up in the world face first, and learning how to care for your skin in a way that feels personal and empowering can be a game changer.
After earning my esthetics license, I worked in a few different areas of the industry, but I always felt pulled toward the more personal, education-based side of the field. I didn’t love the “quick fix” approach some places offered, and I didn’t fully connect with the fluffier, overly indulgent spa experience either. I wanted something in between—real, results-driven skincare that still felt special. That’s how VŌG Skincare was born.
With over 15 years of experience now, my focus has always been on helping people understand their unique skin and how to care for it with confidence. I developed a training program that all of our estheticians complete, so every service reflects that same philosophy: real care, real connection, real results. And beyond the treatment room, I’m passionate about mentoring others in the industry and giving back through education.
VŌG is rooted in authenticity, longevity, and joy. It’s skincare that empowers—not just for today, but for the long run.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road?
Not even close—but I truly believe in the quote, “If it were easy, everyone would do it.” Growth—whether in life or business—is rarely linear, and for me, the road was anything but smooth.
When I entered the esthetics industry, facials were either overly indulgent and fluffy or extremely clinical and cold. I struggled to find my voice in a space that didn’t yet reflect the kind of care I wanted to offer—something in between, rooted in connection, education, and real, long term results.
On top of that, starting a business as a young woman—single, not married, with no financial cushion—felt nearly impossible. But I knew I had something worth building. I returned to my hometown, rented a small room, and worked two jobs for two years just to save up for better equipment and to finally bring in my two dream skincare lines.
As my client base grew, so did the challenges. I was completely solo—seeing clients from 7 AM to 7 PM, and spending another 30–40 hours a week behind the scenes doing everything from inventory and scheduling to branding and bookkeeping. It was exhausting, and I sacrificed a lot: time with friends and family, starting a family of my own, and more nights crying in burnout than I care to count. Imposter syndrome was real.
Even after I saved enough to purchase my dream building in downtown New Braunfels, there was no pause—I kept seeing clients while transforming the space from the ground up. It took me six hardworking years of saving, planning, writing systems, and putting every perfect detail on paper so I could create a space that truly reflected the heart of VŌG. I wanted every client—current and future—to walk in and feel instantly cared for, grounded, and at ease. With the help of my husband, family, and close friends, we brought that vision to life. It wasn’t easy, but it was deeply worth it.
The road wasn’t smooth, but it shaped everything VŌG Skincare is today: grounded, intentional, and built from the heart up.
As you know, we’re big fans of VŌG Skincare. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
VŌG Skincare is a results-driven, education-forward skincare studio located in the heart of downtown New Braunfels. While we specialize in custom facials and skin education, our offerings have expanded over the years to include services like sugar hair removal and brow and lash enhancements—all designed to support natural, low-maintenance beauty that lasts well beyond the treatment room.
What truly sets us apart is our collaborative approach. Skincare can often feel prescriptive or one-size-fits-all, but at VŌG, creativity is just as important as clinical knowledge. We treat esthetics like a form of mixology—blending science, technique, and intuition to personalize every service. Our entire team contributes to the development of protocols, product selections, and service enhancements. This kind of collaboration keeps our team inspired and ensures that our clients always receive thoughtful, intentional care.
All of our facials are multifunctional, allowing us to pivot in real-time depending on what the skin needs—whether it’s active acne, pigmentation, or signs of aging. We’re known for helping our clients build skincare routines that support them through every season of life—from postpartum to menopause to the simplicity that comes with aging gracefully.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that VŌG represents authentic, long-term beauty. We aren’t selling a quick fix or following fleeting trends. We’re offering care, consistency, and confidence—services that help our clients embrace their natural skin and feel empowered doing so.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that when you invest in others, you often grow in return. Whether it’s mentoring new estheticians, collaborating with local small businesses, or giving back to the community, those efforts have a way of expanding your impact in ways you never expected.
It’s not about recognition or reward—it’s about creating something bigger than yourself. That mindset has helped shape the heart of VŌG Skincare and reminded me that generosity and collaboration can elevate not just your business, but your entire industry and community.
