Hi, Ohio; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been working in the hospitality industry for over a decade. But the origin of Dibs Mixers began more recently in 2021. I was making an array of syrup-based products, cordials, and even craft sodas. At the time, my client base was anyone from the bars I worked at to my friends in the industry. After two years and relative success, I took the plunge and worked to get Dibs Mixers off the ground. I hired a food scientist to get my syrups from homemade to factory grade. Now, we are in several local and regional retail outlets, bars, and restaurants. It only took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to get to where we are today—oh, and credit card debt.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Besides being 100% self-funded, one of the biggest challenges has been finding a co-packer I trust to maintain my standards. We love the support we get and want to ensure our customers get a quality product easily and quickly, especially as we continue to scale quantities to meet demand.
We’ve been impressed with Dibs Mixers, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
Our craft syrups stand out from the crowd thanks to our commitment to quality and the team willing to spend sleepless nights serving our customers. One of our slogans is “Made by bartenders, for bartenders,” and that guides our whole operation. Our quality is top-notch to use behind every bar, including your home bar.
Additionally, our syrups are 100% alcohol-free, which means we can be used in your morning coffee, mid-day mocktail, and cocktail in the evening. We are also GoTexan certified, meaning we are entirely made in Texas by Texans. We are also a Disabled Veteran-owned Business.
