Exploring Life & Business with Nathan Sear of Social Sundays

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Sear.

Hi Nathan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. While I was still in high school, I picked up a job at Dog Haus Stone Oak. At 18, I moved out on my own and quickly learned what the real world was all about. I knew the only way I was going to make it was by working my butt off—so I made the decision to drop out of college and go all-in on the server life.

About a year and a half later—before I was even old enough to drink—I became the Bar Manager. One of my responsibilities was organizing events, and as a lifelong motorsports fan, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: car shows.

My first event had about 35 cars, with a Ford Mustang as the standout. The next few shows started picking up traction, with the biggest bringing in around 100 cars. But everything changed when I decided to take the shows beyond my workplace and start collaborating with other local businesses. That shift allowed me to connect with the community in a whole new way—through cars, culture, and shared passion.

Now, I host large-scale events at some of San Antonio’s most iconic spots—like The Rock at La Cantera, La Cantera Mall, the San Antonio Zoo, and other locations that really reflect the soul of the city. These events aren’t just about showcasing cars—they’re about celebrating where I’m from and bringing people together through a shared love for automotive culture.

Today, my events draw 500 to 750 cars, thousands of attendees, and have helped build a strong community both on the ground and online. One of the most successful ventures has been Social Sundays, which has grown to over 6,000 Instagram followers in just one year.

Along the way, I’ve co-created multiple brands that continue to push the scene forward—including Social Sundays, Euro Haus (a Euro-focused car community), and GAMARAY, a high-end automotive company that manufactures a wide range of premium car parts. Every step of the way, I’ve stayed grounded in where I came from, and committed to building something real—something that brings value to both the car world and my city.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been an easy road. One of the biggest challenges has been getting people to take me seriously at a young age—especially when you’re hosting events that involve millions of dollars worth of cars. Most of the people showing up are business owners, professionals, and collectors, so the bar has to be set high. You’re not just throwing a car meet—you’re building an experience.

On top of that, I’m running the media side, managing social platforms, and making sure sponsors are taken care of. Every detail matters, from how cars are parked to how brands are represented. In a city like San Antonio, which isn’t used to seeing high-level automotive events like this, there’s even more pressure to deliver something different—something polished and professional.

It’s a tough job, but I take pride in holding myself and my events to that higher standard. The hard work behind the scenes is what makes the end result so special.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Social Sundays is a monthly event that has quickly become a staple in San Antonio’s automotive scene. We host at various local venues, attracting 500–750 cars and thousands of attendees each month. Known for showcasing the best exotic and diverse car lineup, we proudly boast holding the largest exotic car show in San Antonio’s history—a testament to the unique caliber of our events.

With a growing media presence and over 6,000 Instagram followers in just one year, we continue to stand apart with strong community engagement and consistent coverage that extends our reach. Social Sundays provides a space where car enthusiasts of all levels can connect, share their passion, and experience the rich automotive culture of San Antonio.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see the automotive scene in San Antonio continuing to grow alongside the city itself. San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., and with that growth, the demand for high-quality, unique events—especially in the car industry—will only increase. As more people move to the area, there will be more enthusiasts looking to connect and experience what the city has to offer. Our events will continue to expand as more people get involved, making it easier to bring in even bigger and more diverse crowds.

On a broader scale, the car industry is booming. People want what they can’t have, and there’s no denying the appeal of exotic, rare, and high-performance cars. In recent years, we’ve seen a shift where more individuals are investing in cars that stand out, particularly as the fear of gas-powered vehicles being phased out grows. The idea that electric vehicles are the future has many enthusiasts wanting to get their hands on high-performance gas-powered cars before they potentially become a rarity. This has driven an even greater passion for car culture—people are going in the opposite direction and celebrating the legacy of traditional, powerful cars while they can.

In the next decade, I expect to see the industry expand even further. The passion for cars—whether exotic, muscle, or classic—is only getting stronger, and with San Antonio’s rapid growth, our events will likely become a major highlight for automotive culture in the region. There’s a real sense of urgency and excitement in the community right now, and I’m confident that this energy will continue to drive the industry forward.
