Hi Monica , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I founded Core Beauty Salon & Co. In New Braunfels Tx in the year of 2022 after working in the area a few years short of a decade. I wanted to craft a salon company truly focused on working as a team, where employees and guest felt at home and in a safe environment, and for stylists specially to harness thier creativity behind the chair and create a unmatched experience. At Core attention to detail is everything.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been a smooth ride but more of a journey of faith and growth. Most of the struggles came from buisness processes behind the scenes. Hiring processes for sure as well. Now I always say “Hire the heart, people can learn technical issues” behind the chair. Thank God for community, and our manager Jessica Riojas. She is truly the back bone of our salon company and gives me confidence in our day to day operations while I can hone in helping our growing associate stylists.

At Core, we know now more than ever we crave a sense of community belonging and unity. We make every effort to ensure our guest recieve the highest standard of service. Continued education is a huge thing for us, as well as a career driven structure for our stylists. We are a luxury salon and specialize in color, extensions, balayage, highlighting, scalp, keratin treatments and makeup. We are known and proud of our trademarked mantra “Bring the Beauty Inside out” which has been what we lead by everyday.
We are a Redken Salon.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Preserverance, obsession beats talent every time. Humility, the ability to be selfless and serve others.
I also have the biggest support from my family and friends/ community as well as my foundation. God, all credit goes to the most high.
