Hi Mike, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
The 290 Wine Shuttle began its operation with only two 15-passenger vans and two employees. We have been blessed to have grown to over 30 employees and 20 shuttle buses. We are still family-owned and operated, and we are honored to provide our services in the beautiful city of Fredericksburg, Texas.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think that any business has easy beginnings. Fortunately, we had great employees and satisfied customers who helped us get off the ground. We could ride out the initial hardships through hard work and constant prayer. These hardships would include finding vehicles that fit our vision, finding drivers, constant vehicle maintenance, and even finding a place to pick up and drop off customers.
We’ve been impressed with 290 Wine Shuttle, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
For over 10 years, 290 Wine Shuttle has been helping people tour the Texas Hill Country wineries along the 290 Wine Trail with our convenient hop-on, hop-off wine shuttle service, private wine tours for bachelorette parties, wedding and event transportation, and more. We are truly a one-of-a-kind operation. The 290 Wine Shuttle is the only hop-on hop-off wine shuttle service that runs on a 15-minute schedule. We have been blessed to have serviced over 100,000 shuttle riders and couldn’t have done it without our fabulous customers.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I was out on my Aunt and Uncle’s farm in Arkansas and learning how to hunt, fish, and work the land. Nothing was more fun than fishing with my Uncle Jack or cooking in the kitchen with my Aunt Betty!
