Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Garza.
Hi Maria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At 29, I had to move into a Transitional Home, unsure of the direction of my and my children’s lives. I was fortunate to have a safe place to raise my children until I could figure it out. While a resident and trainee as an office staff member, I was assigned to create a small business plan, and I chose an administrative, bookkeeping, and tax preparation company. Given my experience in all three, I thought the assignment would be easy.
Fast forward to 2021, AliBOSSLLC was legally formed, registered with the Texas Secretary of State, and fully operational. What started as a bookkeeping hobby for friends and family to earn extra funds has grown into a fully functional Bookkeeping & Tax Preparation Business with five year-round clients and is rapidly expanding. We’ve served the Crossroads, Austin, Houston, and Corpus Christi region in the last 5 years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With any business venture, there are going to be bumps, bruises, and lessons. I have learned to take every bump as an opportunity to apply a lesson. I’ve also had to uncomfortably humble myself enough to realize I’m not an expert, but build on what I do know and find resources and contacts that are experts in what I don’t know to gain understanding for myself and clarity for clients.
With ever-changing government administrations and tax laws, we initially struggled with the many changes and the need to implement compliance for each one. After researching many portfolios, we can now offer updated software and Certifications to stay ahead of these changes.
Another struggle in recent years was the high cost of living crisis for both ourselves and our clients. With strengthened communication, we were able to navigate economic hardship and grow from what stood the test of time without acquiring business debt.
The newest threats were the adoption and implementation of AI in the Small Business field. I currently have a great resource, an AI instructor contact, to offer employees and clients training to understand and personalize the AI structure.
Our resources are not funded through loans or investors; all are funded through business capital and/or profit.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
AliBOSSLLC is a one-stop Back Office Support Service. We can handle anything from virtual assistants to year-end income tax returns. We can file your payroll, sales taxes, and income taxes throughout the year, as well as handle your day-to-day operations regarding Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, receipts, recruiting, hiring, and safety coordination and certifications. We’ve worked with Day Care Centers, Restaurants, Lawn Care, and Trucking, and our specialty is Oil & Gas industry contractors. We’ve also added credit restoration, Auditing Administrative Support, and Compliance Support to our services.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I can take no credit but give glory where it is due. I couldn’t have navigated these last few years without direction and guidance from the Lord God Himself and His Holy Spirit. After a lot of humbling, through His grace, I was able to continue striving for better and not give up, though I tried many times.
My parents and my children’s paternal grandmother have always been a very supportive presence throughout most of my life, not just in business ventures. There was always someone readily available to swoop in and care for my kids or assist with anything if asked.
I cannot express the gratitude I have for God for sending the right people at the right time to learn from, provide insight, offer tools and lessons, and offer correction when needed. They know who they are! You can always trust who God sends because He only sends the true good guys, my Ideal Path Leadership and Family.
