Exploring Life & Business with Laura Cisneros, REALTOR® with Jadestone Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Cisneros.

Hi Laura, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved real estate. Looking at pretty houses and picturing myself living there. I spent many years buying and selling properties just on my own. My job was spent working in all different departments of USAA for many, many years. In 2005 my husband and I built a home in Blanco TX that I designed the floor plan and decorated from top to bottom. We were there until our daughter graduated college. In 2017 my husband came home from work one day and I told him I put our house on the market. He asked where we were going, I had to laugh. I told him we would go back to our little house in San Antonio until we figured out what we wanted to do. The plan was to stay a few months and then buy an RV and travel for awhile. About three months after moving back he got called to go back to his oilfield job he used to have. He fearfully told me he was taking it and that meant we weren’t going to be traveling. I huffed and puffed and said “Fine, then I’m getting my real estate license.” His response was “Great, you should have done that 20 years ago.” SO, that began my career as a Realtor.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The honest answer is, for the most part, yes it has been smooth. Of course this business has it’s challenges but I literally say all the time that I love my job so much I don’t even feel like I have a job, I feel like I have an amazing hobby that pays me really well and I get to meet life long friends. Seriously though, it’s always scary when you represent friends or family just because there’s always the chance of something going wrong and it causing problems in the relationship. I have been very fortunate that I have not had any situations that have caused long lasting issues with anyone I’ve worked with. Most of my clients that weren’t already friends or actual family have become so.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Laura Cisneros, REALTOR® with Jadestone Real Estat?
I’m a Realtor in San Antonio and all the surrounding areas. I help clients buy and sell from Kerrville to New Braunfels all the way down to Port Aransas. I work with buyers, sellers, investors and have even done some commercial deals. My favorite though is New Construction and First Time Buyers (especially when they are one in the same).

I think what sets me apart is both my negotiation skills and my ability to help keep clients calm and comfortable throughout the process. Both buying and selling your home, whether its the first time or the last, can be extremely stressful. I pride myself on knowing my business well enough to walk you through the process with confidence that everything is going to turn out the way its supposed to in the end. I always say “It’s God’s plan not ours. If this is how it’s supposed to go it will. If not, there’s always another house or there’s always another buyer.” I work tirelessly to achieve my clients goals. Sometimes I have to be the voice of reason and sometimes I’m just the loudest cheerleader in the room.

What I’m most proud of with my brand is the relationships and loyalty I’ve built with my clients. I have clients that I have helped the entire family buy and sell and I have clients that we have done as many as eight to ten deals in less than two years time. It’s amazing. We go to family functions together and I’ve traveled with some. I truly believe that when you love what you do as much as I do it obviously shows and people want that person helping them with their most exciting and stressful opportunity in life and that person is ME.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
The best luck I had was meeting the wife half of my husband and wife Broker team outside of a yoga class the week before I was taking my licensing test. I began getting my license with the full intent of going to a very specific brokerage in town and once I met Ashley Hillyer it was a game changer. Then I met Ryan Hillyer. I get calls weekly from other really big name brokerages in town and it’s always nice. However, it’s even nicer to be able to say “I am So happy at the my brokerage, Jadestone Real Estate, I’m really not even interested in meeting but thank you.” I have the career I do, in part, because of Ryan and Ashleys support, guidance, mentorship and friendship. So to answer what role luck played, luck of location and chance meetings.
