Exploring Life & Business with Jaz Burgess of Hustle Meets Grace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaz Burgess

Jaz, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hustle Meets Grace began as a wellness blog in 2017, born out of a personal healing journey. As a former Journalism major, I felt called to document my path back to holistic health after navigating a challenging season of life. Through my own healing process, I discovered that my faith in Christ, practicing yoga, and attending therapy helped me reconnect with myself.

What started as a blog quickly became a source of inspiration for many, leading to speaking opportunities and identity development work with clients. By 2021, I realized the need to expand my offerings into a wellness consulting company that addressed the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I became a certified yoga teacher to better integrate the benefits of yoga into my work and pursued a master’s in Clinical Mental Health to further support my clients.

Today, Hustle Meets Grace thrives as a holistic wellness hub, anchored by the three core pillars of Jesus, Yoga, and Therapy. Alongside the growth of Hustle Meets Grace, I founded Sol Haven Counseling, which provides professional therapy for Christian millennials, pastors, and ministry leaders facing religious trauma, burnout, and anxiety.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means. One of my biggest accomplishments has been turning a deeply personal healing journey into a professional endeavor. Navigating my own self-discovery while building a platform to help others came with many challenges. One of the hardest parts was dealing with imposter syndrome. Looking for a step-by-step roadmap can be frustrating because it simply doesn’t exist.

Every day, I choose to take the risk of putting myself out there, knowing that my personal choices could be scrutinized. But what keeps me going is the understanding that my journey could unlock someone else’s story. I’ve realized that I am the blueprint—I’m paving the way and serving as a liberator for others to find their voice.

There have definitely been moments when balancing my own emotional and mental health with running multiple businesses was tough, but it all comes back to my commitment to showing up authentically in the world. Staying grounded in my faith and being honest about my process allows me to continue moving forward, even when the road is rocky.

I anchor my work in three core pillars—Jesus, Yoga, and Therapy—which reflect my deep commitment to holistic wellness.

Under the Hustle Meets Grace brand, I offer 3 main transformative services:

Additionally, I am a sought-after public speaker and have had the opportunity to grace national stages, including my TEDx Talk exploring the intersection of mental health and financial aid repayment leading to the publishing of my book, The Student Loan Remix.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to have confidence in your abilities. When I was building Hustle Meets Grace, I often struggled with imposter syndrome, doubting whether I was truly capable of what I set out to accomplish. But looking back, I realize that trusting myself more would have made a huge difference. You have to believe that you’re equipped with what it takes to make your vision a reality.

At the same time, it’s so important to get a mentor—or even several. Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you, who have walked the path you’re about to embark on. When I started Hustle Meets Grace, I didn’t fully understand the value of solid mentorship and community. Having a network of mentors and creatives will help you learn skills, gain perspective, and enter rooms you never thought you’d have access to.

Also, don’t be afraid to take your time. Every iteration of Hustle Meets Grace was necessary for it to become what it is today. God doesn’t waste anything—He can use every part of your journey for something greater. So, trust the process, seek out guidance, and be patient with yourself. You’ll look back and see how all the pieces come together.
