Exploring Life & Business with Jasmine Ross of Dulcina Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Ross.

Hi Jasmine , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In late 2019, I took my first step into the world of design by enrolling in an online course in Color Consulting and Interior Decorating. Within just a few months, I completed the program and earned my certification excited and ready to begin my career.

Like many new designers, I faced rejection after rejection while applying for positions. After countless unanswered applications and discouraging emails, I was on the verge of giving up. But one last application changed everything. A local firm responded, offering me an internship. I started as an install intern, assisting wherever I was needed, and through persistence and hard work, I worked my way up to a junior interior designer.

The experience was invaluable. I learned, grew, and connected with wonderful people. Yet, I knew deep down it wasn’t enough. I wanted more than just a title; I wanted to create meaningful work, to be valued, and to align my career with my passion for sustainability. In 2023, I made the difficult decision to leave that company, return to school, and deepen my knowledge of sustainable interior design. At the same time, I took a leap of faith and launched my own business.

The early months were challenging, filled with trial and error, but in March 2023, I landed my first major project: redesigning a client’s primary bathroom. That project reignited my confidence and reminded me why I chose this path. To create spaces that restore, inspire, and nurture.

Since then, I’ve continued to take on projects, each one reinforcing my vision: to build a design practice that is not only creative and client-centered but also rooted in sustainability. My goal is to craft stress-free environments using eco-friendly materials, natural elements, and biophilic design principles that bring harmony into everyday living.

Beyond design, I want my company to stand for opportunity. I know firsthand what it feels like to wait for someone to give you a chance. That’s why I aspire to create a business that opens doors for others, where talent, passion, and creativity are recognized, and where designers can prove themselves while making a positive impact.

This is more than a career for me, it’s a mission. To design responsibly, to honor the environment, and to create spaces where people truly feel at home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No career is a smooth road. I wish it was, as it would make our lives easier. My challenges were breaking into the industry, rejection, lack of opportunity, undervaluatuin, starting at the bottom, having tough career decisions, and launching my own business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dulcina Interiors?
