Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Bolalin Joy-Jasmin Brunnelson.
Hi Jane Bolalin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Let Mommy Sleep is a company that has been around for 15 years! Jane Bolalin and Joy-Jasmin Brunnelson are the owners of the San Antonio location. Joy-Jasmin has been with the company for over 10 years. Jane and Joy-Jasmin met over 30 years ago in 7th grade art class and have been friends ever since! Over dinner two years ago, Joy-Jasmin gave Jane the idea to go into business together. The need for overnight newborn care and support in the San Antonio area presented itself through research and inquires from the area. Jane and Joy-Jasmin launched Let Mommy Sleep San Antonio in November 2023. Jane is the Agency Director/Family Coordinator while Joy-Jasmine is the Agency Director/Care coordinator. Together they thrive on helping families match with the right caregiver to support them through this new season in life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall it has been a smooth road. After we connected with other baby, mama, and family oriented providers and businesses, we were warmly welcomed into the community. Our families have been wonderful in recommending us to other families for care. That speaks a lot to the level of care provided by our overnight caregivers. We work hard to vet our team as we want our families to work with the best of the best!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Let Mommy Sleep San Antonio is an expert team of infant and postpartum caregivers. Our Certified Newborn Care Providers (NCP) and Baby Nurses (RN/LVN) support families of newborns and twins. We provide night doula services, postpartum visits, Baby Basics classes, and establishing routines to help baby sleep through the night. Parents are not meant to do this alone!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
In terms of caregivers, we hire a few times per year to add to our team. We do a few rounds of interviews plus background and reference checks. To be considered caregivers must have a minimum of 5 years experience with newborn care. We provide orientation and on-going education to our team.
We love to connect with other like-minded businesses to offer well-rounded support for our families. We have collaborated with other businesses to help bring education and support to the community.
We want to help educate about why overnight care is important to parents of newborns and bring awareness gap in postpartum support in our society. We want to be part of the education and advocacy workin this area.
