Hi Holly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
How HallzPetGroomz Was Born!
HallzPetGroomz started from a place of exhaustion being tired of working so hard and not feeling happy with what I was doing. I’ve had really good jobs in my life. I worked at the post office. I worked at FedEx. I’ve always liked being outside and working independently. But one day I sat down and asked myself something I had never truly taken time to consider:What am I actually good at? What do I genuinely enjoy? What do I love? I grew up fast and never really slowed down long enough to figure that out.
The first thing that came to my mind was animals.
So I asked myself what could I do with that? I already groomed my own dog. Not perfectly but I did it. Tito, my poor baby, hung in there like a champ while I practiced and practiced. I prayed constantly and asked God to guide me toward whatever my purpose was meant to be.
I started at home, charging $15–$20 per groom. Maybe three dogs a week.
I’ll never forget a few weeks after grooming a client’s pet, I would send a follow-up text:
“Hey! They’re due for their next groom. Would you like to schedule?”
Crickets.
That’s when I knew it wasn’t time to quit my job yet.
I needed more practice. I reached out to local groomers, hoping someone would teach me and help me build the skill. I didn’t get much feedback. Some wanted more money than I had. So I kept praying. I invested in online education. I practiced nonstop.
Slowly but surely, my skill improved and clients started coming back.
There was one moment I’ll never forget. I was driving to work in the pouring rain, crying, because I didn’t want to go. But it was the beginning of the month how would I pay my bills?
Deep down, I knew what I loved doing was worth the risk.
So I turned my vehicle around.
I took every last dollar out of my account and poured it into advertising. I posted everywhere social media after social media, ad after ad.
And from that day forward, I never looked back. HallzPetGroomz was built on a leap of pure faith.
God’s grace and my loyal clients who continue to keep me on the map.
And I have to give credit to Jeff. He’s the one who sold me my grooming van and worked out an incredible deal. That moment truly changed my life. That van gave me the opportunity to grow, and I’m forever grateful for that blessing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been bittersweet.
Running a one-woman show isn’t easy or for the weak. It takes a lot to keep things afloat maintaining the truck, staying on schedule, handling the unexpected. We even had a month with three blowouts. But that’s business when you’re driving all day, every day.
One of the biggest challenges was when I did house calls bringing my full setup inside clients’ homes. It was tough on my body and my back. Thankfully, I now have a mobile grooming vehicle, and that’s been a game changer.
On top of business, I’m human. I have personal responsibilities too, especially being there for my mother, who means the world to me. Balancing life and business can get tough sometimes but that’s part of the journey.
Still, I’m blessed. I have a steady flow of amazing clients, and this work is incredibly rewarding. It’s not perfect but it’s purpose!!!!

Im a professional pet groomer located in San Antonio, Texas, servicing both dogs and cats.
What am I known for? I like to say the best groomer in the entire city LOL, I’m just playing. But I am known for keeping tails wagging, families smiling and cats from hissing.
What truly sets me apart is my dedication. I take pride in being honest and straightforward with my clients. I don’t cut corners whether it’s during a groom or in a conversation about what I recommend for your pet. If something needs attention, I’ll tell you. If something isn’t necessary, I’ll tell you that too. Your pet’s comfort and well being always come first.
I offer full-service grooming, including:

Nail trimming
Ear cleaning
Tooth brushing
External anal glands (upon request)
Deshedding treatments
Flea dips
De-skunking
And more , the whole package.
Brand wise, what I’m most proud of is my loyal client base. Through the ups and downs over the years, they’ve stayed by my side. I could name them one by one, but there are simply too many. Their trust and support mean everything to me, and I’m incredibly grateful.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Honestly, I didn’t have a traditional mentor. I reached out to people and didn’t always get responses, but I didn’t let that stop me. I invested in online education, practiced constantly, and stayed consistent.
My advice? Don’t get discouraged by “no.” Use the resources you have, stay teachable, and build genuine relationships. Sometimes your biggest growth comes when you have to figure it out on your own.
Someone once told me you will get 10 no’s before you get one yes . Stay consistent!
