Exploring Life & Business with Gloria & Mia Gomez of Linked Por Vida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gloria & Mia Gomez.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Linked Por Vida is a mother/daughter-owned permanent jewelry business. We started in October 2022 and have grown with the amazing support of our family, friends, and each client who has gotten “Linked Por Vida.” Besides a matching tattoo, we didn’t know of a fun and permanent way to signify our bond. This inspired us to create a unique way for others to experience a memory they won’t forget with someone (or themselves) by getting something that you will wear forever, or, Por Vida! First, you pick from one of our 14-karat gold-filled, sterling silver, or rose gold-filled chains to get sized to your liking for a ring, bracelet, anklet, or necklace. From there, we size it to your liking and weld it closed, leaving it custom and clasp-less! We have a wide selection of charms to add on, and for those who don’t want it permanent, we have clasps available at request. After two months, we were fortunate enough to get our location inside Ultraviolet Salon here in New Braunfels for our weekly business hours, as we usually do pop-ups, private events, or vendor markets on the weekends. We love collabing with other local businesses for pop-ups as they bring exposure to both of us and increase customer traffic for the host’s storefront. We also travel to local groups with a 5-person/bracelet minimum, or groups can reserve a time slot to see us at Ultraviolet Salon. Birthday parties, bachelorette, business events/anniversaries, girl’s nights, weddings, and bridal or baby showers are all events you can book Linked Por Vida for!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Gosh, no! Opening and running a business is non-stop work; there is always something to do. Sometimes you feel guilty for no reason for taking a day off for yourself instead of doing something for the business! For the first two months, we were limited to only pop-ups and private events, which felt discouraging as people asked where we were located when we still needed to set our location. We are so thankful for businesses hosting a Linked Por Vida pop-up like The Hair Parlour, Elysian Hair & Tattoo Studios, and Herbert’s for allowing us to grow our small business. We have come a long way since starting and learning daily as business owners.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Linked Por Vida?
Something to know about permanent jewelry is that it’s as permanent as you want it to be. You can always cut it off if need be, but do so at the link that we weld so you can get it put back on when you’re ready! Our chains are dainty enough to be worn through TSA checkpoints at airports but will need to be removed for MRIs as it is metal. We have heard someone’s X-ray technician let them keep their bracelet for the X-ray of their arm since it can’t be taken off, but that may differ per doctor’s office! Our materials will not tarnish on you but your lifestyle can determine the longevity of your jewelry. To make your jewelry last in good condition, avoid spraying perfume directly on it, cleaning chemicals, fragranced lotions/oils, etc. It can be cleaned with a jewelry polishing cloth, dish soap, warm water, and a soft-bristled brush. Our DM’s are always open for any questions clients may have before or after getting their jewelry.

Any big plans?
Our goal will always be to provide the best for our clients as we continue to grow and expand our clientele. We are so thankful to Ultraviolet owners, Jordan & Alex, for us to work out of their salon and we can’t to see what 2023 brings!
