Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Asher.
Amber, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am from a family of all girls so naturally, I gravitated toward hair and makeup. It’s always been a passion of mine.
I love making others feel beautiful and confident. My passion slowly grew from doing my sister’s and friends’ hair and makeup to what Vixen is today. We have a team of amazing stylists who also share the same passion for beautifying the world one client at a time.
We are a traveling hair and makeup company that services all of the US. I’ve owned Vixen for over 11 years and employ 12+ stylists. We typically average 20-30 weddings/special events/ per month in addition to our commercial shoots and continue to grow each year. My main goal in life is to love what I do so it doesn’t work. Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and continue to thrive in this ever-changing society. So I have taken their spirits and run with it.
We have become the premiere on-site hair and makeup company by building relationships with our clients as well as fellow industry vendors. We provide on-site beauty services for any special event. We also have commercial clients for that we provide on-site services for photo shoots, runway shows, and commercial endeavors. There is no job too big or too small for our company.
I have two daughters that I want to inspire to follow their dreams and they can do whatever they set their minds to.
Bringing a female entrepreneur has not come without its hardships, but with perseverance and drive you can accomplish anything.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything great comes with its share of trials and tribulations. Being a young woman entrepreneur was always a little difficult. But when you are passionate and determined to be successful you have no other choice but to work hard and make your way. In such a huge industry – weddings and beauty – there is always room for growth and lots of opportunities; you just have to find them.
Covid was also a very trying time for not only Vixen but the entire industry as a whole. My team and I preserved and came out even busier on the other side. With the support of our amazing team of stylists, our families for putting up with us working every weekend, and past present, and future clients for giving us the opportunity to beautify them on one of the most important days of their lives- THANK YOU for your continued support.

Here at Vixen, we strive to not only make people look their absolute best but also feel their best. We specialize in on-site hair and airbrush makeup artistry. We are the premiere hair and makeup team in Texas for any and all personal and commercial events/shoots.
We will travel far and wide to any of our clients who need beauty services. We are not only known for our professional hair styling and makeup applications but also for our kind way of treating our clients. We will not leave the site u less everyone is 110% happy. We work mostly off referrals and without the satisfaction of our clients, we can not continue to grow.
I am most proud of the business I have built from the ground up – it’s amazing when you love something and put your mind to it as much as you can achieve. With a sprinkle of faith, a dash of hope, and a whole lot of love you can achieve anything.
What sets vixen apart from all other companies is that we all truly love what we do. Here at Vixen we are a family and will treat every single one of our clients as if they are our family as well- because they are.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Be kind. You never know when you will need to be lifted up along the way. No matter how successful Vixen is we always remember where we came from. I know that each stylist, entrepreneur, wedding professional, etc.
Have all started somewhere and we all can learn from each other no matter how long we have been doing this. The world is a crazy place and kindness helps make it a cozier place for everyone.
