Daily Inspiration: Meet Patricia Acevedo de Dios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Acevedo de Dios.

Patricia Acevedo de Dios

Hi Patricia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Patricia Acevedo, owner of Patricia Acevedo Designs, a handmade jewelry brand all about bold, colorful statement pieces. I’m originally from the Dominican Republic. I’m an immigrant, a wife, and a mom of two. I design and handcraft each piece in the cozy little studio space I have at home here in San Antonio.
My love for handmade things began in my country when I was a teenager. I was surrounded by artists like my aunt, a fashion designer. I studied fine arts while I was studying high school. Then I moved to the city and there I also met a family who were involved in the world of creating accessories with their hands. Since then, I found my passion (making accessories).

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been easy because I love what I do and I’m passionate about creating with my hands. As for building a brand and trying to make a living from it, no too much.

It has not been a smooth road but I could say working hard, having a good strategy and finding the right people have helped me to showcase my jewelry and getting a great response from the public.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m handmade jewelry designer (and we are a luxury and high fashion brand Patriciaacevedodesigns we launch two collections every year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter), and I love working with materials like wood, thread, seed beads, and crystals to create one-of-a-kind earrings and necklaces. each year. In San Antonio I’m a queen of handmade statements colorful earrings.

2024 was an amazing year for the PA Brand:

I was nominated for Jewelry/Accessory Designer of the Year at the Texas Fashion Industry Awards
My pieces were featured on the runway during New York Fashion Week with designer Cesar Galindo
My work was published in Vous Magazine, Rebel Magazine, Glamour Bulgaria, and L’Officiel Ukraine
And yes, I even got to be on live TV in English on SA Live — such a big personal win.
I’m so proud of how far this dream has come and beyond excited for what’s ahead in 2025.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. It’s been constant work creating unique pieces with a lot of love and knocking on doors for them to open.

Thank you for supporting handmade, Latina-owned, slow fashion.
