Hi Monica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am the co-owner of The Board Couple. We started in 2018 creating beautiful, edible art with our charcuterie boards and turned it into a full-time business. Since then, we have immersed ourselves in wine education, wine studies and wine travel to create our wine program and opened two cafes.
We are the first of our kind in San Antonio.
We are sommeliers who specialize in old world wines.
We have continued to grow every year.
Our wine club, wine events and workshops continue to gain even more popularity and enrollment increases every year.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have learned so much. 2025 marks our seventh year in business. Between opening two locations, expanding our wine program and pushing the envelope with innovative workshops and culinary education, we have had a lot of trial and error on what works, what resonates with the market and what has knocked it out of the park.
Carving out consistency in our product was a bumpy road in the beginning. Creating an “elevator pitch” in the early years when nothing like us existed. It became a super power and we learned how to pivot. This rang true especially during the pandemic when we had to adapt and create new products during such a challenging time.

We are The Board Couple. We create memorable experiences through the art of charcuterie and wine. We are not typical caterers or a restaurant. We are a hybrid in between both. We aim for elegance in any scenario through our boards. They are edible art. We also encourage and thrive to create a community of culinary enthusiasts.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
“Buy Back Your Time” and “Side Hustle Millionaire” are coffee table staples in our house. We thrive on educating ourselves with experts online and on social media. It’s where we generate ideas and draw inspiration.
Pricing:
- Catering for weddings ranges from $10-$25 a person
- Corporate events range from $10-$30 a person
- Our individual charcuterie boards for smaller parties range from $85-$480
- Our wine ranges from $18-$750. There’s something for everyone!
- Our workshops are around $100 per person
