Daily Inspiration: Meet Kristina Stangl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Stangl

Hi Kristina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kristina Stangl, and I’m an author who’s originally from San Francisco, California. I hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, along with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) credentials from the University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

In the past, I worked in both the private and public sectors. For nine years, I worked at the federal government, serving in various roles such as an analyst, a quality control coordinator, a project manager and an information technology administrator. It was an overall great experience, but after the pandemic, I found myself wanting to explore more career options and to not be tied down to one specific city or industry.

And so, after 2020, I relocated to San Antonio, Texas and in between my time spent in Texas, I also started traveling across the globe. During my travels, I documented all of the amazing cities and historical sites that I visited on my social media accounts. And it was during my travels, that I began to write my first novel while I was living abroad. In fact, my debut novel, The Ambassador’s Wife, was written almost entirely by the shores of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas!

What began as a first page soon turned into a chapter and then, the next thing I knew, I wrote an entire novel! And my first novel, was only just the beginning. As a local San Antonio resident and a world traveler, I was searching for a remote job that would allow me to do something that I loved, while at the same time, providing me with the freedom to travel the world. And so, my life-long hobby of writing accidentally turned into my career. And now, three novels and three series later, I’m happy to admit that I’m a full fledge author.

Combining my past experiences, education, travel and imagination, I’ve since written three novels and counting (with more on the way), and haven’t looked back not a day since changing careers. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned to wear many different sorts of hats and not one day is ever the same. It’s a challenging and high paced lifestyle, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Based on my journey as an entrepreneur, I’ve also discovered that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. And that sometimes, we’re allowed to have many dreams, all within the same lifetime.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an entrepreneur, some days can be more challenging than others. But the trick is to keep an open mind and to never give up.
Overall, the publishing industry as a whole is constantly evolving and changing as we go. And so, as an author, I’ve learned that just writing novels alone isn’t enough. As an author, it’s important to also do your own research in your field and to constantly read novels in your genre to stay up to date with the latest trends and current writing styles.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an author who writes a vast collection of novels in the genres of romance, romantasy, fantasy, mystery, thrillers and most importantly, stories that all have a happily ever after.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love traveling, drinking every possible style and brew of coffee, and am a huge fan of Korean Webtoons and Manhwas. To me, the best night in is a warm latte, along with a good manhwa to read!
