Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Clark.
Kim, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Many years ago, I worked for an oil and gas investor and his wife was a Realtor. It looked like an exciting career so in 2003, I took the plunge and obtained my real estate license and have never looked back!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Everyone thinks that you get your license and then you start making lots of money, but that’s not always the case. The first couple of years I worked so hard and at the end of those years, I wondered if I should keep going. Finally, on the third year, my real estate career started to take off. All of my hard work has paid off and I was especially honored to have been on the PT50 Early Qualifier list for 2025!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been with the same Keller Williams office for the past 22 years because of the work ethic that they instilled in us. I learned that it is not just about being a good salesman. It’s about customer service and always putting your clients first. Because of this, about 95% of my business is from referrals from past clients! Somewhere along the way, I realized that I was working 12-hour days, 7 days and week, and missing out on the other things that I love like spending time with family, travel and my art. Now I have found a wonderful balance and have learned to carve out some time for me.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My business makes me happy because I get to help people with what might be the most important purchase of their lives and I truly want them to be happy with that decision. I meet the most wonderful people in this business and that is really the best part. I also love to travel with my husband in our Airstream and we have traveled to every state in the contiguous United States. My other passion is my art. I used to love to draw and paint when I was young, but then you get married, raise children, start a business and there is just not time for something as frivolous as art. It was a passion of mine though and I have finally found a balance in my life where I can do what I love for a living, I can travel and I’m finally painting on a regular basis and enjoying selling my paintings of mainly horses, Bison and other animals! We also love riding our bikes on the beautiful greenway trails of San Antonio and travel with them as well. It’s all about finding that balance in your life and making time for what makes you happy!
