Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Garcia.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ever since I was a kid, I have always had a fascination and enthusiasm for fast cars. After high school, my parents encouraged me to go to a technical school called Universal Technical Institute with a specialization in European cars. After graduation, I found myself working at several different dealerships throughout Texas. With over a decade of dealership training and experience, I found myself feeling defeated. I was severely overworked and underpaid. I was working 50+ hours a week and I wasn’t making enough money to cover the bills. After years of trying to make it work at the dealership, my girlfriend saw how miserable I was and encouraged me to quit my job. I tried a few other occupations but there was no passion in the work that I was doing. One day I went to her with a napkin with handwritten notes and a dream of what would now be known as Enthusiast Motorsport. The next few months we worked out the logistics and EMS was born. We have been in business 3 years now, and have experienced year after year growth and built a community of car enthusiasts that make work feel fun and exciting.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m sure all small business owners will agree, you can’t grow without challenges. Our biggest challenge has been finding quality employees. Exceptional work and customer satisfaction is something we refuse to compromise on. I want to have peace of mind in knowing that every job is done exceptionally. I wanted to hire someone like myself, with dealership experience, and attention to detail. This has proven to be harder than I anticipated, resulting in me working overtime to get jobs completed. I ran the business single-handedly for over a year, until I was completely burnt out and realized something had to change. Thankfully fate was working in our favor and we now have a team, who I trust, with ample experience.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in European auto repair and modifications. What I believe sets us apart is our attention to detail and our full transparency. I want our customers to feel a sense of relief when they leave their vehicle with us. Knowing without a doubt; that their vehicle is in good hands, that our pricing is transparent, and that they will receive updates every step of the way.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is spending quality time with my family. All the money in the world and the fastest Porsche 911 GT3 RS wouldn’t mean a thing if I didn’t have them.
