Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Perez.
Hi Crystal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a cosmetologist of 6 years, I started later in life than most and had a bit more focus due to not wanting to miss the opportunity. I have a beautiful suite in downtown Boerne,Tx and work along side my daughter whom I am in awe of her talent.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, but I feel that’s what has shaped me in to who I am today. One of my first jobs was a chain salon where I was working at for a while before moving into my own suite. My first suite was a learning experience and difficult due to not being fully established, I found myself in a longer term salon site at Salon Boutique where I stayed for quite a few years, I built a lot of my clientele there and when it came time I decided to move closer to my home. When I saw the suite in Boerne I knew I was in love with the space, it has come with some trials of business partnerships with others. I wouldn’t change it for anything because I have learned to really trust your circle of people. I hope to stay where I am at for a long while
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a cosmetologist/hairstylist of 6 years. I love vivid colors, extensions as well as perms and balayage.
I feel what sets me apart is I want to see more people succeed, I feel a community can be more than just a one and/or two time suggestion here and there. We work next to amazing ladies and I am happy to share their work with others at any given opportunity. In the hair community I know there can be a lot of competition but I am not here to compete with anyone I just want to better my craft for my clients to offer them the best possible service I can provide.
What makes you happy?
My space where I can create I have always loved creating, when I’m working on vivid colors I love it, The creativity comes out even when I’m placing perm rods on each person. It really makes me happy. Being able to help each person achieve their goals is a huge part of what makes me happy.
