Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Robertson.
Hi Catherine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up a military brat, my dad was on active duty in the Army for 24 years and is now retired. Because of the military, I had the opportunity to live and travel all over the world and have experienced different cultures, people, and places and that has helped shape me into the person I am today.
In 1998, after living six years in Europe, we finally landed in Texas and I’ve called this wonderful state home ever since! To make a long story short, I entered the real estate industry in 2014 right after finishing up my MBA. I was hired on as an accounting associate and was promoted to department manager within just a few months. I loved my job and everything about the real estate industry.
I changed careers for a while to spend more time at home with my family and when the pandemic hit I found myself reevaluating the career path. A long-time family friend who happens to be a realtor; again encouraged me to get my real estate license. So in the middle of a pandemic, I left my teaching career and came back to Real Estate, this time as a Realtor.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My experience as a military child and then as an Air Force spouse, taught me that when I’m faced with challenges and problems; I must be resourceful and learn how to solve them. I can honestly say that the decision to leave my teaching career in the middle of a pandemic for a career that does not have any guarantees was terrifying.
With this extreme career pivot, I had to buckle down and focus on building my business from the ground up. Being timid was not an option. Perseverance, patience, persistence, studying, and learning the entire scope and knowledge of real estate required I work many late nights, early mornings, and it has all really paid off.
I absolutely love what I do and my clients have become friends. I believe that every part was part of God’s greater plan for my life all along and He has blessed me beyond what I could have imagined.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My past professional experience in teaching, banking, and real estate accounting as well as my formal education has prepared me with experience in customer service, problem-solving, organization, communication, and a proficiency in social media marketing. My resume is long and varied, but every career path I’ve been down has provided me with a particular skill set that I have been able to utilize and implement as a Realtor.
When I decide to do something I‘m all in and I expect to succeed. I love helping my clients find their dream home or land to build on. There is such a sense of accomplishment and pride when I am able to help clients end the chapter in one house and transition to their new homes. The Texas Hill Country is where I live and I love living here, not just because of the beautiful and scenic views here, but also because of the charming people that live and work here.
Each little historic and culturally rich town offers a variety of family-oriented activities such as yearly festivals, museums, parks, award-winning wineries and distilleries, and restaurants serving delicious foods brought to Texas by German, Mexican, Polish, and Czech immigrants. There is always something to do! Whether you visit for a day or stay forever, the Texas Hill Country is truly a place of extraordinary experiences and lifelong adventures.
How do you think about happiness?
Helping my clients realize their dreams and finding their “happy place” brings me the greatest joy. I treat my customers like family; I lead with kindness and heart, and by building relationships, and bringing value to others. Every day, I begin the day with the attitude of gratitude, grace, and with the purpose to be someone’s hero.
I promise to my clients as their Realtor, that I will listen and take to heart their wants, needs, dreams, and fears. I guide through each step of the process, providing them with information and my professional expertise. I always encourage and support them from the beginning to the end. It is my goal to provide top-tier service, whether they are buying, selling, renting, or investing!
