Today we’d like to introduce you to Alondra Vega Pacheco.
Hi Alondra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began playing instruments at the age of five in Puerto Rico. I showed interest and talent with the guitar first. Considering I had a family full of musicians and singers, I was bound to pick up an instrument at some point. When we moved to America, I joined my school’s choir but since I didn’t know English yet, I quit and joined band instead. I ended up playing the French Horn for 8 years and in between that I self thought the piano, drums, and how to sing. It wasn’t until I had already joined the military and was stationed in Japan in 2019 that I started making rnb music and taking my singing seriously. In 2020, I released my first fully produced and written EP all by myself called Swim in Me. In January of this year, I released Begging which by far has been my favorite single. I feel like it was a huge step forward with my vocals improvement.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overcoming my fear of singing in public has been the hardest. I’ve had great performances and I’ve had awful ones. Also, not fine-tuning some of my songs and becoming too complacent really was detrimental to my progress. But this year I took it seriously and the out coke was beautiful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I go by Alondra Marie as an artist. I make R&B music and sometimes sing in Spanish which I believe makes me stand out a bit. I’m raw and honest with my music and that makes people resonate with it.
