Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesenia Garcia.
Yesenia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been the type of person who hopes people leave smiling after spending time with me. Whether it’s a conversation, a nail appointment, a social media post, or now a book, I’ve always wanted people to walk away feeling a little lighter than when they arrived. I think that’s probably why I’ve found myself exploring so many different creative paths over the years. I’m a woman of many hats.
I’ve been a licensed nail artist for about 15 years. For years, that creativity showed up through nails, and what started as serving clients eventually grew into my own business and my YNS nail brand, which is now available through Amazon FBA worldwide. I still work full-time in corporate, so most days I’m balancing conference calls, content creation, recording my audiobook, and trying to remember if I actually drank enough water that day. It’s a little chaotic… but I genuinely love it!
Over time, I realized there was a story on my heart that I couldn’t ignore. That became my memoir, Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá (Not From Here, Not From There), which shares parts of my upbringing as the daughter of migrant farmworkers and the experiences that shaped me into who I am today. I published it in December 2025, and shortly afterward released Be Still With Me, a coloring book filled with positive devotions and affirmations. I’m currently narrating the audiobook myself, and it’s been one of the most challenging and rewarding projects I’ve ever taken on.
At the end of the day, I’m just someone who loves to create and inspire. Whether it’s a set of nails, a new product, a book, or a piece of content that makes someone laugh, my hope is that people walk away believing that if I could do it, they can too.
I hope people leave feeling encouraged to chase the things they’ve been talking themselves out of. Life is too short to keep waiting for “the perfect time.” We don’t get to choose where our story begins, but we do get to decide what we do with the chapters that come next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but looking back, I wouldn’t change any of it because every obstacle has taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to work with people. Whether it’s employees, customers, clients, or business partners, everyone communicates differently, has different expectations, and sees the world through a different lens. Over the years, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about having a great product or idea it’s also about learning how to lead, communicate, and build relationships with people.
Financially, I’ve also had to build everything from the ground up. I didn’t have investors or a large support system helping me along the way. There were plenty of moments when I questioned whether I was making the right decisions, but I kept reminding myself why I started. Looking back now, every sacrifice was worth it.
Another challenge was relocating and having to rebuild my business from scratch. Starting over is never easy, especially as a single mother raising two boys while also taking care of two dogs and juggling multiple businesses. There were days when I questioned how I was going to get everything done, but somehow, one day at a time, I did.
One of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve experienced has been learning to stop thinking small. For a long time, I focused on what I could accomplish locally. Now, I think much bigger. Whether it’s publishing books, selling products through Amazon FBA, or reaching readers and customers around the world, I’ve learned that sometimes the biggest limits are the ones we place on ourselves.
Above all, I’ve learned that nothing worthwhile comes easy. Success isn’t built overnight it’s built through consistency, discipline, resilience, and showing up even on the days you don’t feel like it. If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s that incredible things can happen when you’re willing to keep going, even when the path isn’t easy
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Honestly, I’ve never been someone who could fit into just one box. I’m an author, entrepreneur, licensed nail artist, content creator, mom, rental property owner, and someone who simply loves bringing ideas to life.
People know me for my silly TikToks, client consultations, nail education videos, and even just for being a mom. I think what makes my journey unique is the combination of my sense of humor and my serious business side. I’ve always believed you can work hard, chase big dreams, and still laugh along the way.
A lot of people have followed my journey from the days when I was simply growing a small business with big ideas. Today, one of the things I’m most proud of is seeing those ideas grow into products that are available to people around the world. What once served a single niche has evolved into projects that reach and encourage people from all walks of life. What started as a passion for creativity eventually became something much bigger than I ever imagined.
If there’s one thing I’m most proud of, it’s not any single accomplishment it’s the fact that I never stopped creating. I never quit, even when life became difficult. Working multiple jobs while pursuing dreams that once felt impossible taught me that you don’t have to choose just one version of yourself. Every business, every book, and every new project represents another reminder that growth happens when you’re willing to keep going.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t create simply to sell something. I create because I genuinely hope my work helps someone believe in themselves a little more than they did yesterday. Whether someone buys a book, follows my journey online, or sits in my nail chair, I hope they leave feeling seen, encouraged, and inspired to chase the dreams they’ve been putting off.
Personally, at the end of the day, why I feel that way is because to me success isn’t measured only by what I’ve built it’s measured by the lives I’ve been fortunate enough to impact along the way
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I don’t just see my industry changing, I see myself changing with it.
I started at a very young, age “17” to be exact and for most of my adult life, I’ve worked multiple jobs and built multiple businesses. While I’m incredibly grateful for that journey, it’s also taught me how valuable time really is. My biggest goal moving forward isn’t simply to work more it’s to create businesses and opportunities that continue to grow, even when I’m spending time with my family, taking a vacation, or simply enjoying life and diving into my own love life!
I’ve worked hard to build income that isn’t always tied directly to trading my time for money. Whether it’s publishing books, growing my businesses, selling products online, investing in rental property, or renovating my beach house into a place where other families can create memories, every project is part of a much bigger vision. I want to build things that continue creating opportunities long after I’ve stepped away for the day.
As a mom, that perspective has become even more important to me. My boys are young adults now, but one of my greatest motivations has always been creating a life that gives me more freedom to be present while also building something meaningful for their future. I don’t just want to create success for myself. I want to create a legacy that my children can continue long after I’m gone.
Technology is changing incredibly fast, and I believe the people who continue learning and adapting will continue growing. I’m excited to embrace those changes because they’ve already opened doors I never imagined possible. The opportunities today are so much bigger than they were when I first started my career.
If the last few years have taught me anything, it’s that thinking globally instead of locally has completely changed the way I dream. Today I don’t ask, “Can I do this?” I ask, “How many people can this reach?”
That’s the mindset I hope continues guiding me over the next five to ten years!
