Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanassa & Veronica.
Hi Vanassa & Veronica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It started with trying to do something to occupy our time away from work. I, Vanassa have always been doing art since I was young and continued to do it here or there, if it was digital media, drawing, or just going back to different type of the classic art made by your hands. My most recent was working with resin and happened to show it to my sister who loved the work she saw and wanted to do it herself. Now I believe her reason was similar, occupying her time and a stress reliever. One day she said we should try to sell what we make and make artwork for others. This is how we started to create homemade artwork for those who had an idea so they could put in their home. Of course, we are just starting this small business and even started going to vendor markets to see if we could attract attention to our artwork. We wanted to create home made home decor that is customizable to the viewer as well as create our own unique style.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a challenge and we have had our ups and down. One of our biggest challenges has been navigating the business side of our work. Creating the artwork comes naturally, but running a creative business requires us to take on many roles at once. On any given day, we shift from artist to photographer, website designer, market coordinator, and even accountant—whatever it takes to keep things moving forward.
When we sit down to develop a new project, we’re constantly thinking about how to promote our work and reach the people who will appreciate it. Building visibility is essential, not only to grow our audience but to sustain the passion that drives our art.
It’s been both fun and exciting to grow into these roles. At one point, I jokingly appointed my sister as the “Sales Department,” and she took the title seriously—landing us a new order almost immediately. Moments like that remind us that even the business challenges can become part of the adventure. Between having our full time jobs and trying to create this business has been difficult but with GOD nothing is impossible. All we have to do is trust in the Lord with all out hearts and lean not on our own understanding and in every way acknowledge him, he will direct thy path.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We create custom artwork distinguished by our personal craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our expertise spans wood, mixed media, and resin, and we’re especially recognized for our signature wood‑and‑resin pieces. We take pride in building every item by hand from the ground up, ensuring each piece is truly one‑of‑a‑kind. What sets us apart is our commitment to authentic, handcrafted work—never mass‑produced, never duplicated.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The work we do takes dedication, persistence, and a willingness to keep growing. We’ve learned that having supportive peers in the industry makes a tremendous difference, offering guidance and insight along the way. Every step of this journey has been a learning experience for us, and we continue to evolve with each project. Working together as a team strengthens our craft and keeps us moving forward.
