Conversations with Nicole Blanco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Blanco.

Hi Nicole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My husband started his Transport and Logistics company named CONEXION TRANSPORTES in 2016 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico where he is from. In 2018 when we got married we wanted to start the sister company in the USA named CONNECTION TRANSPORT & LOGISITCS INC. We started with a 2006 Ford 250 pick up truck and have grown into a fleet of 7 different size trucks and a team of 7 employees between both companies. We strive to provide the best customer service to bring peace to our clients during their transport needs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. The transport and logisitics industry has a lot of ups and downs. Rates, drivers, and insurance are always changing which creates a lot of challenges.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We love everything transportation. My husband (Erick) is the one that moves the day to day activities of the business. Move our 5 trucks, communicates with clients and drivers, does all the selling of our services, and a lot of administrative activities. I am more involved in the administrative/HR/ payroll activities. Last year we hired our first team member and it was a huge mile stone for us. We strive to provide the best customer service for our clients. We would like to be the easiest part of the supply chain by providing the best and stress free for our customers.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We have taken major risk. In 2023 Erick left his job at Adient Technologies to pursuit our business full time. We purchased our first Sprinter van with the promise of one client. Since then we have purchase two more trucks. Our biggest risks have been hiring new employees. Payroll and payroll taxes are no joke, it brings more responsibility and expenses to the business. We are big risks takers however not all of them have been calculated risks. With some years of experience we have learn to take more calculated risks and measure the pros and cons of hard decisions.
