Conversations with Mark Tompkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Tompkins

Hi Mark, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
S0 how I got started . Basically it has been about 10 years ago. For one I’ve been into fitness since I was in high school.so since was 18 but back then I wasn’t that serious about it I did it just more as a hobby but I was not committed to it at the time. But I will say maybe when I n turned 30 so 12 year’s later is when it became a little more serious about it. And being that I have a twin brother at that time was in the military and he used to compete for body building, and I would see how dedicated he was .and the fact that he was winning his competition. Got me interested. So I then acquired a personal trainer . And I had one of the best trainers ever. She got me so into it I said I would love to do this.and at that time I was working different jobs. I had some really good paying jobs , but it still felt like something was missing. I was good at my job but it was no passion in it. So that’s when I realized be into fitness was my calling . So I went to a personal training school and got my certification as a trainer and never looked back. Because my passion is helping others reach there fitness goals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it had its challenges, the biggest challenge was trying to help get clients in the beginning because it was times that a lot of clients would cancel or not take it as serious. And keeping them motivated.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So I’m a personal trainer, and I specialize in functional training, also body building, and overall fitness health. I’m known for my biomechianics which is more focused on form, isolation movements. I’m most proud of helping my clients reach their actual fitness goals and helping them see that they could actually transform their body. What sets me apart from others is that I hold myself accountable to help my clients reach there goals and also hold them accountable.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Yes I have my twin brother that encouraged me showed me how to get to the next level. My first trainer I ever had showed me what it took to be a personal trainer.
