Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaci Bragdon.
Hi Kaci, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Kaci Leigh Bragdon. I am from small town Hondo, Texas. I have been singing since the age of 5. I remember always being excited to go on stage to perform with my father any chance I could. Once I turned 13, my dad showed me how to play a few chords on the guitar. Although I have yet to learn every guitar chord, I have been able to learn, play, and sing many songs over the years.
Luckily, I was taught at a very young age about God and just how good He is. Around 13-14, I started becoming very involved in church. My father and I would sing for Mass once a month, and my passion for music grew immensely. Once I entered high school, I became involved in FFA, where I participated in the talent team and won multiple 1st place titles and banners for the school. Also, while in high school, I participated in a local talent show where I won 1st Place and the school talent show where I placed 1st.
After graduating high school in 2018, I have become more involved in the church than ever. Although I sing most genres of music, I have realized that there is no other music that touches me more than worship music. Every time I sing a song, I can feel God’s presence. I have spent the past few years posting singing videos on TikTok regularly and have recently started hosting TikTok worship lives on Sundays. I also volunteered to sing at multiple Robb Elementary victims’ funerals, our local high school’s Fields of Faith, and so much more.
On December 17, 2023, I released my debut worship single, “He is King.” What this song captures is how our world has become so dark, ugly, and filled with sin and how I hope and pray for the day more people know Jesus. The song is also a great reminder that it takes the smallest amount of faith to know Jesus or form a relationship with him. I can confidently say that God gave me this talent for a reason: to heal hearts and bring people to Him or strengthen their relationship with Him.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have to admit, the journey I’ve been on, and am still navigating, has been incredibly bumpy. The music industry and social media can feel very bumpy at times. It’s disheartening when one of my singing videos barely gets noticed, while content that promotes negativity thrives with millions of views. It weighs heavy on my heart, especially when I see how our youth are constantly bombarded with harmful influences.
But amidst the challenges, there’s a fire within me to make a difference. I refuse to sit by while the world drowns in a sea of negativity & hate. I want to be a force for positivity and change. With every note I sing, and every word I write, I strive to spread light, hope, and God’s love.
Yes, the road may be bumpy, but I’m determined to stay on the course. I believe that even in the darkest moments, there’s an opportunity to shine brightly. And so, I’ll continue to pour my heart and soul into my music, hoping to touch the lives of others and make this world a better place, one song at a time.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
While music isn’t my full-time job, I’m hopeful about its future. Right now, I’m writing a few more songs, hoping to release them soon. Each song I create is a testament to God’s Love, and I can’t wait to share them with others. Even though it’s not always easy juggling music with my other responsibilities, I’m determined to keep pursuing my passion. I believe that with God, dedication, and hard work, I will achieve my goals.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
You would describe me as a girl with a big personality with an even bigger faith—a girl who’s not afraid to talk about Jesus.
Growing up, I have always had a big personality. I was never afraid to introduce myself to people and make friends. As I mentioned earlier, I have been singing since I was 5. One of my earliest memories of singing was in 4th grade when my classmates convinced me to stand at the cafeteria table and sing “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. As soon as I finished singing, the whole cafeteria, including the teachers, clapped for me. I still can’t believe I did not get in trouble for that one.
I also have always been one to try and post scripture on my social media daily. By posting the scripture, I hope it helps someone who may be having a rough day by reminding them just how precious and loved they are.
