Today we’d like to introduce you to Esther Medina.
Hi Esther, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My name is Esther Medina, I was born in Houston, Texas.
After I married, I moved to San Antonio with my husband, I used to work in the restaurant business after I got pregnant with my child Sergio we decided it was time for me to stay home and focused on taking care of our baby full time. I love being with my son at home but I always had in my heart the idea to start a business where I could still help out and make my own money but without leaving my son.
Jireh Photography started a few months ago, while talking to my husband about my love for photography and how all my friends always asked me to take their pictures, this idea came he bought me my first camera and started promoting myself to the people around me. I started using my family as models and starting to posting my work on Facebook and Instagram.
I got my first real client a few weeks ago and they loved their pictures. I still have a lot of learning and work to go ahead of me, but with passion and patience I know Jireh Photography will grow to be something amazing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy, as a new photographer, I am still learning how to manage my camera and as well as new techniques. Trying to be patient about not getting clients right away, learning that people might not love your job because you’re a “newbie” and you don’t know as much.
But what I am learning about this road is that I will grow and learn along the way to love my job for other people to do the same and for the people who trust me and give me the chance to work with them, Thank you, because you don’t know how happy you can make someone by just giving them a chance.

Jireh Photography focuses on family, pets, and everything in between. Is a family business just my husband, our baby, and I. We try to capture the joy of families, pets, quinceañeras, graduates, babies, and anyone who wants to see their smile in a photograph.
I am proud of myself because I gave myself the opportunity to try and start my own business, of my family for trusting and believing in me, and for always having a word of wisdom and encouragement for me.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Never give up! Is not going to be easy, I am still learning and will keep learning and trying to make my business better quality for my clients and myself. You might not see the benefits right away but always believe in yourself while your hard work pays off.

- $25 for 15 minutes includes 5 pictures from one location
- $40 for 30 minutes with 15 photos
- $65 for 1 hour up to 2 outfits with at least 25 photos
