Today we’d like to introduce you to Eglantina Stickles .
Hi Eglantina; we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have always wanted to be in real estate, but being a military spouse involves moving around. I promised myself that when we settled, the first thing I would do was get my real estate license. Eighteen years later, I finally did. I have been practicing full-time real estate for about eight months now, and I love it. I wish I had started sooner, but like most things, the timing must be right. I love the challenge, the hard work, and the results. I love teaching my clients about the real estate buying and selling process and ensuring they are taken care of during the process.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Nothing about being a real estate agent has been smooth, but the more I learn, the easier it gets. Knowledge truly is power when it comes to real estate. One of the biggest challenges with real estate has been balancing family time. There is no such thing as just sitting back and getting clients; you must work and grind. The biggest challenge with real estate is no guaranteed paycheck like with other jobs. You get what you put into it.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a real estate agent specializing in first-time home buyers. I love the challenge of getting new home buyers into their first house. One of the things that set me apart from others is my ethics. I am not the type of real estate agent that sits in the office and makes a lot of calls; I’d rather be out and about “shaking hands and kissing babies,” so to speak. I like being out and meeting people.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up very hyper, creative, and energetic. I wouldn’t say I liked school and hated being inside for hours sitting at a school desk. That would explain why I don’t sit at a desk now and would rather be out meeting people.
