Hi Dominick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Dominick Acconcia, the artist known as Emcee Kid, and I see myself as a dynamic force in the San Antonio Hip-Hop scene. I’m committed to delivering passionate music that pushes back against the dilution I see happening in the industry. While I wasn’t born here, I definitely consider myself a true San Antonian—I was raised on the East Side since I was ten years old. That upbringing cemented my deep love for the “Dirty South” sound and its powerful impact on rap, which resonates clearly throughout my distinctive style.
I’m a truly hands-on artist; I write and record all my material myself, building a foundation of authenticity and dedication that feels increasingly rare. My talent has earned recognition, leading to my current signing with the WaveRydas label, where I’m closely mentored by the accomplished Hip-Hop artist, ZenRyda. You can find my music across all major streaming platforms, and I’ve recently been featured in an interview with Artist Republik. Moving forward, my vision is clear: I want to elevate the South’s role in the global music conversation and leverage my growing platform to foster continuous personal and artistic development.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
definitely i would have to say that the hardest thing here is that everyone is always trying to one up another and there is no true team building or team effort. but other than that i started with only a dollar and a dream but i had to also teach myself alot of what i know about writing, lyrics, artist self management, mixing and mastering, finding a distributor, Music theory Etc.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
the thing that makes me happy besides the music of course is my eldest son James who is 9 and my twins Constantine and Ezra who are 8 months. being a father is what im doing besides working on music
