Today we’d like to introduce you to Delia Atenea Hickman.
Hi Delia Atenea , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Momma Loves Fashion as a blog and Instagram account back in 2017 just as a little test to see if anything would come out of it. I left my job in International Banking/ Finance to be a full time wife/ mom and I first took some photography classes thinking I wanted to start a photography business and also because of the fact that I’ve loved taking photos ever since I was 12 years old! I eventually realize that although I loved photography I really didn’t care too much about making it an actual business however all of the photography skills then helped me a lot when it came to starting my blog/ social media.
Eventually I focused more on Instagram and TikTok and I’ve been growing and I’ve been having lots of fun creating content and trying to inspire other women and moms through the eyes of style!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not always but I always try to focus on having fun with it and setting new goals for myself! I love sharing my outfit inspo online and honestly I feel that getting up and doing your makeup and putting on a cute outfit will brighten anyone’s mood! It makes you instantly feel better!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So the way my business actually works is that I get to share affiliate links online in various platforms and if someone likes my outfit or something that I’m wearing, they can easily click the link and purchase whatever piece they’re interested in. So I make money off of affiliate links and brand partnerships by sharing outfits I love or even some beauty / makeup recommendations! I like to focus on fashion and mainly things that you can wear everyday. Also, a fabulous date night outfit here and there and some cute vacation looks!
What am I most proud of? Well I LOVE sharing fashion stuff but k think my main accomplishment is being a wife and mom to 5 of the most amazing kids I’ve ever met! That’s why I named it “Momma Loves Fashion”when it all began because I left the corporate world as a Vice President in International Banking to dedicate my time to being a full time mom but I felt I needed a creative outlet and that’s how I decided to start sharing all of it on social media!
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me would definitely be God and my family, and that basically entails me reading the Bible, spending my alone time talking to Jesus, exercise (I love my Pilates!), and then comes my Fashion content!
Other than that hubby and I try to never miss a date night and we LOVE traveling as a family!!!
