Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Martinez.

Cindy Martinez

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
My mom and I first got introduced to essential oils in 2018 when I took her to a massage therapist. After her session, she introduced us to the oils she used on her shoulder. She explained to us what they were, how they helped, and what company she would buy them from and advised us to look into them so I could purchase them and use them on my mom when she was in pain. We then purchased them and started doing more research, but I only got fully involved once I came across an essential oil bottle from the same brand in the office of the physical therapist I was shadowing. I asked her about it and told her how my mom and I had some oils from that same brand back home. She then started sharing lots of knowledge and experience with the oils. After that, I became more curious and excited to come home and tell my mom the new things I learned from the physical therapist regarding essential oils. We started getting more involved. We became a member to earn points when we made purchases and accumulated enough points to purchase products from the website for free. She recommended books and special blends and oils she would make for specific things like pain, inflammation, circulation, dizziness, earache, etc. In the years that followed, we each would do our research using books and youtube video seminars; that way, we understood and eventually became an everyday part of our lives. We use topically, internal (safe) essential oils and aromatic oils.

I began using more on my mom for her back pains to any pains she might be feeling. To this day, she leaves the house with her oils! Her purse is full of oil bottles and rollers! They bring so many excellent benefits that everyone should try at least once. Nowadays, everyone wants to fix everything with medication, but we think Mother Earth created these plants, flowers, leaves, and fruits for us; why not learn more and use our Mother Earth resources? All my family, including my dad and 2 older brothers, would laugh at us for using oils first when it came to stomach pains, cleaning, and even just having the house smell good. Now ask us specifically for our oil when they have a sore throat, headache, or muscle pains, and now we laugh! Like We told you so! Haha. And when even introduced to more family members and friends suffering from anxiety and pains or just educating them on how and why we use essential oils. Because we truly believe in them, they also gave it a shot to try and love them! It just brings a smile to our faces that we were able to share our knowledge to help at least one person feel better. Fast forward to late 2022, my stressing over my job from having a perfect friend of mine planted an idea in my head about sharing with more than just family and friends our favorite and go-to blends. I decided I could. I’ve had great feedback, but we also have negative comments, which is completely fine. Not everyone is going to think oil is that powerful. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I started thinking about names which was a hard one; it took me a few weeks to come up with the perfect name. I used the inspiration of my mom, how all of this started our Mother Earth, and I came up with Mother’s Touch! 🙂 After my first pop-up, I just became hit with all these ideas of what else I could do that I have not stopped since! Even though it’s only been 6 months, it has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It has brought so much joy, and to see a smile on a customer’s face is the cherry on top! 6 months later, I now have introduced our favorite essential oils blends, body cream and scrub, lip scrub, room sprays, bath salts, stinky feet spray and working on so much more things that I’m so excited for the future of Mother’s Touch. My mom is so proud and sees how happy it makes me, and I couldn’t have done it without her and the help of my friends and boyfriend; that is my biggest support group! I do have my bad and great market days, but all I can see is what is next on my list of goals! So excited about this journey and hope we can change and make a difference in the lives of at least one person who will make our day. To this day, I think how funny things work, how that same essential oil bottle was in the office of the physical therapist, and how, from that moment, we became fascinated; who would have thought both these 2 random professionals we came across used the same brand of essential oils and how the rest just fell into place a coincidence? 🙂 I don’t know if I can say the brand’s name, but we use Doterra! So many amazing products, and I hope to go to a convention soon 🙂

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has/is some struggles throughout the way. I have been being more social, putting my face out there for a larger audience, rejection, and finding the right crowds. I am creating new products without previous experience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create special essential oil blends for everyday self-healing and beauty products. I am most proud of how my family inspired me to make each roller based on how it helped them in their everyday lives. I’m also proud of how I can incorporate my Mexican heritage by having a Spanish name for each product.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Likes – we have an excellent community for small businesses supporting each other. Dislikes – the hot bipolar weather (:
