Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Warren.
Hi Barbara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Six years ago December 15th, I let go of my skepticism by attaching my name to the company I am absolutely obsessed with after vowing not to do one of those home business ventures again. Well, not until I found a product realizing I could age gracefully and feel good while doing it! That was my only goal at the time –was to feel better! My business was very part-time while on active duty and retirement was quickly approaching. I retired March 11, 2016 and the engine in my truck blew April 14, 2016. My husband was working in another state, we were maintaining two different households, a mortgage 551 miles away with two sons in college which was stretching us thin. I had to make the decision to commit to operating my health and wellness business full-time to earn much needed bonuses and my car bonus. However in addition to all of the above, I felt fantastic and I needed to share with others because I was committed, it worked and it was simple. So, here I am today helping others rediscover the BEST part of what make them who they are.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When starting a home business one must realize there are going to be obstacles along the way and sometimes very bumpy. Some of the struggles many of us face is what will my friends and family think, what if I can’t pull this off so why even try?, I don’t look the part, and comparing ourselves to another person’s journey who has been in business longer. And then there are those who are so close to achieving their goal they become afraid and let up on the gas. Sometimes we can be our own worst critic and sabotage ourselves.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My goals each and every day is helping others rediscover the best of them, get healthy, boost their confidence by being transparent and authentic about my own challenges, help others to trust themselves with the decisions they choose that is best for their circumstances and to have fun while doing it. I’d like to think I am known for providing information that is needed and not what one wants to hear based on their situation and an active listener. I am most proud when my customers provide me updates on how their health/wellness journey is going and trust me enough to ask questions. What sets me apart from others is that I truly want to see everyone win whatever that looks like for them. People want to know they are heard and that their needs are what’s important. At the end of the day, it isn’t about me. It is about how can I help them with their issue.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
During this pandemic, I have learned people still will seek out help for whatever their problem happens to be. Being confined to one’s home, apartment etc, many found their creative bug, opportunity to workout, discovered a lot about themselves and then some struggled to find cohesion operating in a different environment and different rules. I reached out to so many who were trying to find the balance of tele-working from home and those who were laid off. I found some people took the opportunity to finally leave their dreaded job and go into business for themselves due to fully understanding their worth. In some way many people felt relief by exiting the rat race and an opportunity to spend more time with family. For me personally more people reached out to me wanting more details of my particular products because they were ready for a change. People will make changes when they are ready and sometimes a crisis like the unfortunate pandemic is the nudge some needed.
