My brother Lou traveled to New York and Naples, Italy, to study the art of pizza-making. Throughout his journey, he shared his knowledge with me and encouraged me to pursue my own venture in the culinary world. Four years later, we proudly run our pizza business in San Antonio, Texas, which we now call home.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any venture, we encounter challenges along the way, particularly when navigating a new market. As a small business, we strive to go above and beyond to ensure our customers recognize our presence. We don’t just sell pizza; we offer a memorable experience that keeps our patrons coming back.

Lou’s Woodfire Pizza was established on May 4, 2014, in Del Rio, TX, by my brother Lou. We specialize in a unique take on Neapolitan-style pizza, infusing it with distinct Texas flavors. Our dough and sauce are made fresh daily, and we prioritize using high-quality, fresh ingredients.
What truly sets us apart is our commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel like family. We have proudly competed in the International Pizza Challenge, ranking 59th out of 100 in the non-traditional category.
