Today we’d like to introduce you to Patchrapa Williams.
Hi Patchrapa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Thailand, where I lived for 24 years surrounded by Thai massage and holistic healing. From a young age, I helped my parents by walking on my dad’s back and rubbing my mom’s shoulders after long workdays, which naturally built my passion for helping others.
After moving to San Antonio, I spent three years as a stay at home mom, during which I struggled with postpartum depression. Massage school became a turning point for me. It gave me purpose, renewed energy, and a way to reconnect with my passion. After graduating, I worked in the industry for four years, gaining experience and confidence.
Opening my own business was always my dream, and in 2024 I made it happen. I built everything myself from the massage table to the monkey bars and treatment room. Today, nearly two years later, my business is thriving, and I’m proud to be sharing my lifelong passion for healing with the community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t smooth at first. While some clients followed me, building a steady flow of new clients took time and patience. As a small business owner, there are many responsibilities you don’t realize until you’re in it marketing, scheduling, finances, and daily operations all while still providing hands on care.
I also work out of a single studio, so when I’m in a session, I’m unable to answer calls or accommodate walk-ins at the same time, which was a challenge in the beginning. Expenses add up quickly, and there were days I wished I had 54 hours in a day to get everything done. Still, every challenge pushed me to grow and build a stronger business. But it still gives me joy every day to wake up and having my own small business to taking care of.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Cherished Thai Massage and Bodywork ?
My business is a private, single studio massage practice focused on personalized, intentional care. I specialize in Thai massage and therapeutic bodywork, blending deep pressure, stretching, and relaxation to support both physical relief and mental well being.
Clients often describe my space as peaceful, safe, and professional, and many share that they leave feeling deeply relaxed and cared for. I’m known for being patient, attentive, and customizing each session to meet individual needs. whether that’s stress relief, pain management, or specific concerns like nerve issues or limited mobility.
What truly sets me apart is my background and approach. Thai massage has been part of my life since childhood, and that lifelong experience allows me to intuitively adapt each session. I’m most proud of creating a calm, welcoming environment where people feel comfortable, heard, and supported and of seeing clients return again and again because they trust the care I provide.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like most about San Antonio is that it’s growing, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming like a super big city. There’s still nature, space to breathe, and it doesn’t feel too crowded. The people here are kind and welcoming, which reminds me a lot of Thailand. Thai people are generally generous and easy-going, and I feel that same warmth here. I truly love Texas and the sense of community in San Antonio.
What I like least about the city is the allergies especially cedar fever. It gets me every time. Other than that, San Antonio really feels like home to me.
