Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Gaston.
Hi Morgan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After high school, I knew I wanted to create my own lane and be in control of my future. After my service, I started tapping into the skills I already had—mainly my creativity and love for tech. I’ve always been a lowkey computer nerd, so I went to school for graphic and web design and started freelancing to make money.
That creative hustle eventually led me to start a candle line focused on entrepreneurship and hustle culture. It gained a lot of traction between Houston and San Antonio, and through that, I ended up building a community of like-minded people who weren’t necessarily following the traditional 9-5 route. Just entrepreneurs trying to create something for themselves.
As that community grew, I felt naturally drawn to real estate. I wanted to help people like me—ambitious, nontraditional, and often overlooked—realize that success in real estate is possible, whether it’s buying your first home or investing in property. That’s when my best friend Brianna and I came up with “Hustler to Homeowner”—not just a catchy phrase, but a mission. We help people build wealth through residential, commercial, and multi-family investments. For us, it’s all about turning hustle into long-term stability and legacy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. After the structure and stability I had before, separating without a real plan was tough. It took time to find clarity on what I wanted, who I was becoming, and what direction I was heading in. Entrepreneurship wasn’t something I grew up around—it was completely foreign in my family. I had no blueprint, no mentor, and no one holding my hand through the process.
One of the biggest setbacks I’ve faced was when I received a cease and desist for trademark infringement on my candle line. The other brand and I were nothing alike, but our names were similar, and I was forced to shut everything down. It was devastating. I had invested thousands of dollars and poured everything into it creatively—it truly felt like the peak of that season for me, and it all got ripped away.
But that experience taught me a lot. I started to learn the business side of things—how to protect your brand and move smarter. I ended up filing for and now own my own trademark. Still, I was out of business for almost two years just trying to figure everything out on my own. That season really grew me.
Then I got into real estate. I knew most agents don’t close a single deal their first year and many quit within two years. I started fresh in a new city and still managed to hit just under $1 million in sales in my first eight months. It definitely wasn’t easy—I’ve had deals fall through at the last minute when I was literally down to my last dime. But I pushed through. It’s year two now, and I am barely scratching the surface.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Moves with Mo?
I’m a Texas-based Realtor® who specializes in helping veterans and entrepreneurs buy real estate—whether it’s their first home or an investment property. What truly sets me apart is that I’m nontraditional, just like many of my clients. I’ve walked the same path of figuring things out along the way, and because of that, I connect with people on a real level.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building “Moves with Mo” into something reputable and trusted. It’s more than just a real estate brand—it’s a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel supported and seen. I pride myself on being the kind of agent who keeps it real, fights for my clients, and always leads with transparency, honesty, and heart.
I want readers to know that you don’t have to have it all figured out to take that first step. I’m here to guide you through the process—whether you’re buying, investing, or just trying to understand what’s possible. My brand exists to support people through the messy middle and help them come out on the other side with something powerful to show for it—ownership, opportunity, and a future they can build on.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Keep going, stay in your lane, and work for it. Consistency and resilience will take you further than talent ever will. But more than anything—have faith. Truly believing that you can do anything you set your mind to is what keeps you grounded when things get tough. And they will get tough.
My biggest advice? Stay the course, even when it gets rocky. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, network with intention, and don’t be afraid to learn from those who are already where you want to be. Don’t move selfishly—break bread with others, share opportunities, and always do good business. Those kind of things come back full circle.
