Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a mom of 4 with a newborn, I had been very overwhelmed with my pregnancy and then postpartum journey. I was talking to friends who were in a similar situation and we all agreed that there had to be a better way to support moms who need an extra set of hands. We wanted to pair moms up to help one another to help manage the everyday demands of work, school, and home and that’s how Team MomSquad was born. We built a community of moms in Texas who support one another with anything they could possibly need help with, which includes everything from house cleaning, laundry, prepping meals and grocery shopping to dog training and putting together goodie bags for a kid’s birthday. I’ve surrounded myself with some pretty amazing women and it really makes the motherhood journey so much easier. We started the company in San Antonio and now we have MomSquad members in Dallas and Austin. The level of engagement and excitement from moms who need help and moms who want to help surprises me everyday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Is a drive ever 100% smooth? I’d say, absolutely not! There are always struggles in our day to day lives. The premise of our business directly addresses some of the bumps in the road as moms that we have. Businesswise, ramping up and putting all the technology pieces in place, onboarding our amazing team and scheduling will always be a process. We are figuring it out one day at a time and having each other makes it that much better.

We believe Mom really does know best…and can do it best…
Families are busier than ever. Trying to juggle the everyday demands of work, school, and home can be overwhelming. Sometimes it would just be so much easier to have another Mom around the house. And that’s what Team MomSquad is all about! We’re an extra set of hands around the house. We do the things you just don’t have time to. This includes tidying up, organizing, decluttering, meal prep, and so much more.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
We launched our business in the midst of the crisis. A big lesson was that we should never allow fear to hold us back from something we know is needed in our community. Clients love our business and are grateful everyday when one of our MomSquad Moms shows up to help.
