Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenne Woods.
Hi Kenne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a lifelong learner and fitness advocate, I’ve always sought to better myself and those
around me. Exploring various modalities which lead to health and longevity, I’ve enjoyed
teaching and sharing such knowledge.
After over a year of deliberating and consulting with other experts about training and
technology related to ARX Robots, Strong in 15 (S15) was brought to life in December of 2019.
The name originated as one of the key components of our training is that it can be done in as
little as 15 minutes per session. In a bustling world, many of our clients have commented on
the efficacy and efficiency of our tailored training protocols.
Most will recall what ensued in 2020 with a pandemic that impacted the world. This brought
many hurdles for the new business which consisted of in person, specialized personal training.
Since then, I am delighted to report that we have trained hundreds of clients who have all
shown documented improvement through the extensive metrics captured through our training
protocols. This data is a key differentiator when it comes to training, as clients are able to
reflect on past workouts and highlight their progress and gains.
As previously mentioned, the lifelong learner in me has consistently listened and learned a
tremendous amount from clients and other experts over the years. As we embark on our 7th
year in business, we have streamlined the training process to meet the various needs of our
clients. Whether it be the 15 minute workouts, seeking personal records (PR), overall health, or
just improved mobility, we’ve been able to meet our clients at their current fitness level to
accomplish desired goals.
To our delight, we are enjoying the new clients who have chosen us for their fitness journey,
along with numerous “legacy clients” that continue to choose us year after year in their
continued health routine.
I’m not sure what we will learn in the future, but it’s exciting, and it brings great joy to see the
continued success of our clients.
I
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The pandemic was our first real test, and having navigated such a challenging time with our
clients really showed us early on how to meet the client and listen to their needs.
This continues to be a key area of focus and one of the challenges it presents is the ongoing
updates and modifications clients need in their health journey. As your mobility, strength, and
overall health improve, oftentimes the routine needs to be updated as well. This has paved way
for expanded offerings and partnerships within S15. Constantly seeking the best interest of our
clients, partner offerings are first tested by myself and the team, then if deemed suitable for our
clients we incorporate the offering. We will only recommend offerings which have been
thoroughly vetted by our team, which can be a time consuming effort when providing only the
best for our clients.
Of course, one would be remiss to leave AI out of a conversation in todays time. While AI is an
incredibly handy technology, we’re seeing it can offer some less than optimal advice at times.
When training individuals, we evaluate several metrics and components for specific,
comprehensive solutions. AI may not be able to see your technique, factor in ALL your current
metrics, or give you feedback without prompting. Therefore, while we’re on the leading edge
of technology, there have been a few hurdles when navigating the incorporation of AI to
personal training.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In a nutshell, we are the most innovative, personalized, effective, and efficient personal trainers in the
Hill Country. Using ARX Robots with personalized training sets us apart.
Training consists of custom tailored protocol after an initial consultation and intake to
understand current fitness level and goals. Training varies depending on the intake
assessment, which we then formulate a recommended training plan of action, typically
consisting of 1-3 training sessions per week.
The number one question we receive is “why don’t you recommend training 5 days per
week?” Possibly the most important question each potential client should ask themselvesis:
“Is it
sustainable?”
We ask in return, “are you able to perform these movements long-term?” You can become
stronger working out 15 minutes at each appointment, but for how long?
The concept most
difficult to grasp seems to be that of Recovery which is as important as training.
This concept is so difficult to grasp, but our clients experience the difference when they are able to follow our process for years.
On the other hand, clients see and feel a difference in a month.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The book “Renovation of the Heart” by Dallas Willard is the foundation I use when seeing all clients.
Many of the anatomy books I read and studied during dental school remain foundational for me.
Currently, I listen to the following podcasts routinely.
Examples are: Modern Wisdom:
Chris Williamson
High Intensity Business:
Lawrence Neal
The School of Greatness: Lewis Howes
The God Journey:
Wayne Jacobsen
Mind Shift:
Erwin & Aaron McManus
