Hi Kelsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my Pet Sitting business when I started college as a freshman at UTSA. I had some extra time, needed the extra money, and wanted to start a business that could have flexible hours. Starting my pet-sitting business was perfect for me because, throughout my childhood, my mom didn’t let me get any pets, so I knew one day, when I moved out on my own, the first thing I was going to do was go to an adoption animal shelter and adopt my first fur baby.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
It has been primarily smooth, significantly growing more relationships with pet parents and each of their fur babies. Some challenges would be learning each dog/cat’s personality and routine! Sometimes can be challenging when some dogs and animals are uncomfortable with others!

My business is Hartlove Pet Sitter, and you can find “Hartlove” as my married last name. From the beginning of 2015 till 2023, my pet-sitting business has grown each year by gaining new pet clients and taking care of loving pets while their pet parents are at work or on vacation each week. My pet services include drop-in visits, dog walking, and House sitting. All my pet services can take place in the pet parent’s home. I started my journey on Rover and now have over 60+ reviews and over 20+ repeating clients! I ensure my prices are affordable and my schedule is flexible to meet each pet’s parents’ expectations.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
There is so much new to learn about San Antonio and adventure out there! I love how diverse San Antonio is and how fast this beautiful city is growing! Oh, and especially all the food choices! So yummy!
