Today we’d like to introduce you to Kellie Buckingham.
Hi Kellie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry 26 years ago working at a make up counter at the mall. In 2003 I got my esthetician license . I started working for myself having a business that did on location hair and makeup for weddings as well as production work for magazines and tv. In 2011 lash extensions took over and in 2013 I opened my first lash bar. I closed it in 2020 during the pandemic. In 2023 I opened Lash Habit Academy, a beauty school that does Esthetician and Lash Specialty courses for licensing through TDLR.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Career wise, it has had its ups and downs, but mostly up. I attribute my faith in Jesus Christ and his guiding me to where I am today. If He leads you to it, He will provide all that you need.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a hybrid, self-paced beauty school that offers Esthetician and Lash Specialty courses for licensing. Our small school offers 1:1 instruction and a variety of services for our students to learn, using only top of the line products.
We teach our students as we would in a spa setting, to ensure our guests receiving services are more than satisfied! We offer services to the public and also have a professional side providing lash and spa services.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
We partner with a ministry and give scholarships to women who have been sexually exploited / trafficked.
