Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Truesdale.
Hi Jamie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have spent the past sixteen years as a stay-at-home mom, a season of life I cherish and one that has deeply shaped who I am today. While my primary focus is raising my children, I have always had a creative side and a love for design. I graduated from Baylor University in 2008 with a degree in Interior Design, and I’ve always had an eye for creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and intentional.
Before opening Jamie Lynn Home, I spent six years selling makeup on Facebook, which is where I truly learned sales, customer relationships, and the importance of showing up consistently. That experience gave me confidence not only in selling a product, but in connecting with people, understanding what they love, and building trust within a community. Before that, I was a wedding and event planner.
For a long time, Jamie Lynn Home lived quietly in my heart. I felt a growing restlessness and anxiety (like my heart was in my throat) and what I can only describe as a persistent push from God to take a leap of faith. I knew there was something more I was being called to do.
Despite the fear and uncertainty, I stepped out in faith and opened Jamie Lynn Home. What started as a leap has grown into a full-time passion and a place where my love for family, faith, hospitality, and design all come together. My education, natural sense of style, and years of hands-on sales experience played a major role in shaping the shop into what it is today. For that, I give God all the glory.
Jamie Lynn Home is more than a boutique. It’s a reflection of my journey, my faith, and my desire to help others create homes that feel meaningful and lived-in. It’s my passion. Looking back, I can see that every season (motherhood, sales, schooling, and even the fear) prepared me for this moment.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many small business owners, one of my biggest challenges has been managing finances while still wanting to offer a thoughtfully curated selection for my customers. I love providing variety and giving people options, but inventory requires careful planning and discipline, especially in the early stages of business.
Another challenge has been space. As Jamie Lynn Home grew, it became clear that our original footprint was limiting how we could merchandise and serve our customers. That led to the decision to expand this year, which came with its own set of challenges from budgeting to logistics but ultimately allowed us to better reflect the vision of the brand and continue growing.
Through these challenges, I’ve learned to balance creativity with strategy, trust the process, and make decisions that support both the customer experience and the long-term health of the business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Jamie Lynn Home is a home décor boutique rooted in family, faith, and the belief that a house should truly feel like home. We specialize in curated home décor, furniture, gifts, and seasonal pieces that are both timeless and on-trend designed to help our customers create warm, welcoming spaces that reflect their personal style.
What sets Jamie Lynn Home apart is the heart behind the brand. Every piece in the shop is selected with the customer in mind, whether they’re decorating their own home, refreshing a space for a new season, or searching for the perfect gift. Our style blends elements of modern farmhouse, French country, cozy cottage, and traditional design, offering approachable options alongside a few statement pieces that make an impact.
In addition to our retail offerings, we provide custom sourcing, gifting, and hands-on design services, allowing us to work closely with clients to bring their vision to life. Community is also a huge part of who we are. We love partnering with local businesses, supporting families, and creating a space where people feel welcomed the moment they walk through the door.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that reflects my values while serving others. Jamie Lynn Home is more than a boutique. It’s a place where creativity, hospitality, and connection come together, and where customers feel inspired, encouraged, and at home.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up with three older brothers, I was definitely a tomboy. I spent my childhood hunting and fishing, playing football in the backyard, and keeping up with the boys any chance I got. Sports were a big part of my life. I played basketball for 5 years and loved the competitiveness and teamwork it taught me.
At the same time, I always had a softer, creative side. My mom was (and still is) my best friend, and as the only girls in the family, we shared a special bond. My love for design, shopping, making holidays and gatherings magical, and creating beautiful spaces came from the time we spent together. Those moments planted the seeds for the creative path I eventually followed.
I also stayed busy with dance, gymnastics, and cheer. In middle school, I was the school mascot, and in high school I was a cheerleader (best known for being able to throw footballs and candy all the way to the top of the stands thanks to my brothers). Looking back, that mix of toughness, creativity, confidence, and connection shaped who I am today and continues to influence how I approach both life and business.
