Hi Gabe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My buddy Zack and I were talking one day just brainstorming business ideas and I suggested tree planting because I had a friend of mine up north that had been doing it for a few years. Zack loved the idea and so we headed up to Dallas to get training on how to plant trees.
When we came back we rented a truck bought a trailer, tools, and dropped our first ad on Facebook marketplace. We paid off the trailer within 2-3 months and we are only 4 payments away from paying off our truck after a little over 2 years.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It took a bit of time for the business to take off with our advertising. It was also a challenge getting consistent on how fast we could plant the trees. One of our first jobs we unloaded three big trees that we ended up not being able to plant and loaded them back in our trailer again later that night. Shortly after that our trailer got stuck in mud and we had to offload the trees again, manually drag the trailer out of the mud then load the trees back on. I remember getting home after midnight and telling Zack the next day I’m out if a day like that happens again!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are San Antonio and surrounding area tree planters. We specialize in anything from 5 gallon to 200 gallon trees. I think we are known for doing almost all of our trees by hand, digging and all. Our pricing and our attention to detail set us apart from other businesses in the field. We offer discounts on bulk buy and we also will do landscaping jobs as well. No job is too big!

The spotify app is a great tool when working outside. Just hitting shuffle and listening to tunes.
