Community Highlights: Meet Ana Sanchez of Harmony International Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Sanchez.

Hi Ana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story really started long before real estate. I moved to San Antonio from Puerto Rico when I was 12 years old, and life definitely didn’t come with a perfect roadmap. I became a mom at a young age, and for many years, my biggest motivation was simply creating a better life and more stability for my daughter and myself.

There was even a time in my life when we experienced homelessness, so being able to eventually purchase a home of my own was incredibly meaningful to me. I know firsthand that a home is so much more than four walls it can represent security, stability, a fresh start, and sometimes proof to yourself that you made it through a difficult season.

Before real estate, I worked in the banking industry as an underwriter. I had a stable career, but I knew I wanted something more. I wanted the freedom to build something of my own, provide a different life for my daughter, and have a career where I could genuinely make an impact on other people’s lives.

Taking the leap into real estate was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have now been a licensed REALTOR® for over 13 years, and throughout my career I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of families buy, sell, invest, relocate, and navigate some of the biggest transitions of their lives.

Real estate has also allowed me to become an investor myself, purchase and flip properties, build my own business, and eventually create Harmony International Group. One of the things I’m most proud of today is being able to mentor and encourage other agents, especially women and mothers who may be trying to build something bigger for themselves and their families.

My career has never just been about selling houses. Some of my clients have become my closest friends. I’ve celebrated marriages, babies, new jobs and new beginnings with them, and I’ve also walked beside people through divorce, loss, financial hardships and difficult life changes. That is why I’ve always believed in being a “Realtor for Life.” I want people to know that I’m there for the relationship, not just the transaction.

Looking back at where I started and where I am today, I’m incredibly grateful. Real estate changed my life, but more importantly, it gave me the opportunity to help change other people’s lives. I’m still growing, still learning, still dreaming bigger, and I truly feel like I’m just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I became a mother at a young age, experienced financial struggles and even homelessness at one point, so I learned very early how to be resilient and keep going even when life gets hard.

Real estate has had its challenges too the ups and downs of the market, deals falling apart, financial uncertainty, and learning to balance being a mother, business owner, leader, and still making time for myself. But every difficult season has made me stronger.

My faith, my daughter, and my desire to create a better life have always kept me moving forward. I truly believe the struggles are a huge part of my story because they’ve made me more compassionate, determined, and grateful for everything I’ve built today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m the founder and team lead of Harmony International Group, brokered by 1st Choice Realty. We serve San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding areas, helping clients buy, sell, invest, relocate, and navigate new construction. I’ve always believed real estate should be personal, not transactional, which is why “Your Realtor for Life” means so much to me.

What sets us apart is how hands-on we are. When we list a home, we don’t just put it on the MLS and hope it sells. We help prepare the property, stage it, coordinate professional photography and video, host open houses, create social media content, and aggressively market it to get as much exposure as possible. I love taking a home and creating a complete marketing strategy around it.

I’m most proud of the relationships behind our brand. Many of my clients have become lifelong friends, repeat clients, and referrals. I’ve also been blessed to mentor other agents and help them grow their own businesses. At the end of the day, Harmony International Group is about people, relationships, community, and making sure our clients feel supported long after the closing table. Turning dreams into reality and transactions into relationships is truly what we’re about.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been incredibly blessed with an amazing support system throughout my journey my family, friends, colleagues, mentors, teammates, and clients who have believed in me, supported me, referred me, and encouraged me along the way. I truly believe success is never achieved alone.

But above all, I give all the credit and glory to God. Nothing I have accomplished would be possible without Him. He has carried me through every difficult season, opened doors I could have never opened on my own, and continued to guide me even when I didn’t understand the path. My faith is the foundation of who I am, how I lead, and everything I’ve built. I wouldn’t be where I am today without God and the incredible people He has placed in my life.
