Check Out Traliece B’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Traliece B

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had my start as a violinist at a very young age with an eclectic background of classical, pop, and jazz, along with playing with the New Orleans Youth Symphony Orchestra throughout the city of New Orleans with local artists.

From there I went on to appear in many performances with the Red River Valley Symphony Orchestra in Virginia as well as the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra where I had the privilege of appearing on a live album with Brave Combo, Symphonic Polka (2009), which won a Grammy.

I also played in a variety of settings nationally between symphonic groups, private events, and worship teams.

Since 2018, I have also been featured on various indie recording artists projects along with releasing a few singles of my own. I’m currently in the recording studio working on her next project.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One major obstacle was dealing with my mental health issues of depression and suicidal ideation. This was due to dealing with low self-esteem, low self-worth and not being able to love myself. As a result of this, I would purposely not share my music with anyone because I thought I was good enough and that I can never be enough.

My lowest point was when I ended up having a nervous breakdown and spent years getting treatment but, also finding God in the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer and a violinist whom create music that has a soulful, jazzy, yet hip-hop sound. I am most proud of being able to share my gift to the world and overcoming my thoughts of inadequacy. There are many wonderful violinists and singers out far greater than I but, I learned to no longer compare myself to others.

I believe what sets me apart is the songwriting. The songs I write are very personal and are birthed from a place of pain but, then being able to write a song that brings encouragement, healing, and hope.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First I give credit to God because without Him I would not have these gifts. Secondly, I would like to thank my parents passing down the generation gift of music. They are both musicians along with my siblings and each of them are my inspiration. My grandmother was also a musician so music is literally in my blood. LOL I grew up in a household filled with all types of genres of music as my family play and sing in many genres. I learned so much simply by the environment I grew up which encouraged my musicianship.

I also had a cast of orchestra teachers whom were also pivotal in my development.
