Check Out Taline Postajian’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taline Postajian.

Hi Taline, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started In the Posts at the beginning of COVID. I left my job to pursue an MBA at Pepperdine and at the same time met my now fiancé (who is the reason I’m in San Antonio).

Without a full-time job, I needed some kind of work. I had been doing social media work and personal content creation for years and a friend of mine asked me to help her with a social media assignment for a class.

She loved the results so much that she told me I should start charging people for the service and referred me to her colleagues and that’s how In the Posts began. After that my client roster grew pretty quickly through word of mouth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting started was the easy part. It felt really natural and sort of just happened. After that, things got a bit more complicated.

During COVID, some of my clients were hit with supply chain issues, and in turn, social and PR was the first thing to go. Then in July of 2021, I began working full-time doing social media management and influencer marketing for Aii Beauty which owns some major brands like Ardell and Salon Perfect.

Another struggle is that sometimes brands don’t realize what they need and won’t let me do my job. They’ll insist on making unnecessary last-minute changes to the grid and calendar or will sometimes post things without consulting me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create a visual DNA for braids. A style that people can differentiate on socials. Brands come to me and give me direction on what their business is and what their values are. I then create a plan for their aesthetic goals and how they want to be perceived on social media.

I make sure their social pages reflect that. I offer content creation services where I created content for brands or sometimes they already have branded images and they hand it to me to arrange in a nice grid. Social brands can be crafted into anything a brand wants.

When you look at a business’s Instagram page, it should immediately give you an idea of what kind of business they are and what its style is. You can immediately tell which pages have a social media manager and which ones don’t. I’m known for my minimal, clean, neutral style.

But that doesn’t mean all my client’s pages are extremely minimalistic. I really like all my client’s pages to have a luxurious feel to them and always find a way to incorporate their brand while keeping it simple and highlighting or bringing to the front and center those things that are really important to them without distraction.

What makes you happy?
My family and fiancé make me the happiest. They’re just my favorite people and I’m so blessed to have them. Other things that make me happy are:

– Reading outside: Makes me feel like I’m in a Jane Austen novel.
– Traveling back to places I love: I love seeing new places too, but I get excited to travel back to cities I miss.
– Cooking and hosting dinner parties: Friendsgiving is my jam.
– Creating content: I create content for my personal page because it’s fun for me, but more so because I love to go. back and rewatch the reels/Tiktoks I make of weekend and travel recaps. It’s almost like reliving the highlights of the trip.
